I love telling stories. As an art form, the story is often relegated to creative endeavors. And for good reason since that is where storytelling shines. We look to novelists, essayists, playwrights, and poets to find something that inspires us. We look to them to understand our own experiences and to be brought into the lives of others, broadening our understandings of one another. Storytellers help us to be human. As humans, storytelling infuses everything we do. No matter where we are or what we are doing, we are telling stories. Some excel at this and others struggle, but that doesn’t change the fact that humans need to tell stories to communicate well. I help non-profits, churches, ministries, businesses, authors, and individuals tell their stories through creative writing and editing. We all need help with our stories at times because we find ourselves too attached to make the necessary changes that will make our stories better. As an objective reader with an eye for detail and care for your work, I can help. Let’s connect here to see how we can partner to tell your story.Content Editing

I’ve spent about half my career in magazines and half in digital media. I was the Editorial Director for a leading monthly magazine in Texas for five years. As a freelancer, I’ve successfully completed hundreds of editing projects, including everything from business books to wedding speeches. Here’s a snapshot of my standard editing services: • Checking grammar, spelling, and punctuation • Improving clarity and flow • Using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes function or Google Docs’ Suggesting function to make it easier to see all edits and approve or reject them • Providing feedback on issues such as organization, presentation, and logic • Ensuring adherence to your organization’s in-house style guide or other guidebooks such as the Associated Press Stylebook (AP), the Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), or the APA Style Publication Manual • Making AI-generated content sound more natural (also known as “humanizing”) Please note: I am strictly an editor. I don’t do formatting, graphic design, search engine optimization, fact-checking, or indexing. If you need high-quality, professional editing, I’m always available and eager to help.Content Editing

I am a historian, a writer, and a passionate storyteller. I am also a motivated self-starter as well as a good collaborator. Furthermore, I have developed skills in both my professional and personal life that I will enthusiastically bring to any project. Professionally, I have an academic background in studying and teaching History at the college level. History is, in essence, a narrative, and therefore teaching it requires one to be a storyteller as well as a content expert. Crafting an engaging narrative that draws students in, is part of this job that I love the most. After years of bringing long-gone people and places to vivid and colorful life in the classrooms of several New Mexico colleges, I am now looking for something more. In terms of non-fiction, I have written internet articles on the subjects of History and Philosophy for Historica Channel's website as well as for Culture Frontier. I have also written books on these subjects, as well as self-help, for Wisdom University Press (formerly Thinknetic). I hope to soon bring my narrative abilities to fiction as well. My creative writing background has been mostly self-guided and is therefore not fully reflected on my current resume. But I have always strived, and continue to endeavor, to become a better writer both through my own passionate study and through creative collaboration. Throughout my writing journey, I have enlisted various other creatives to read my work and provide feedback, which is a process I enjoy. I have also done the same for other writers, including published Fantasy author Jason Denzel. The stories that I love to write are set in bizarre and fantastical environments but are grounded in real human experiences. My academic background provides me with a deep well to draw from in areas of philosophy, mythology, and of course human character study. I have written two High Fantasy novels by myself in which I built a fictional world from the ground up, complete with cultures, political tensions, and magic systems. I also write historical fiction with supernatural twists. I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to discuss how I can help you with whatever project you might be working on.Content Editing
