In editing a romance novel, I focus on the following areas: • Narrative structure: tense and point of view • Consistent tone and style • Tropes, heat levels, romance novel conventions • Chemistry between the lovers • Witty banter, love talk, and smooth, romantic sentences • Emotion conflicts and barriers that must be overcome • Overall flow of the narrative • Plot holes Standard error detection and correction and American-style spelling and punctuation (unless otherwise specified) are also applied, and I generally edit in MS Word with tracked changes and leave explanatory comments and suggestions. I will usually reply within a few hours, if not instantly, to any messages you send me. After I submit the project and the client approves the milestone, I remain available for revisions until 100% satisfaction is achieved. My turnaround time for a full-length novel is 3-7 days.
