I mostly work in APA and Chicago styles, but I will work within any style guidelines to meet your specific requirements. Do you need to clean up or finalize your academic papers, journal manuscripts, thesis, or dissertation? I am your grammar, spelling, and punctuation police! I am results-driven and will honor the deadline(s) you set. My expertise is in APA style (both 6th and 7th editions). I also have copyedited/proofread/formatted papers and manuscripts in AMA, MLA, Vancouver, Harvard, and ASA styles. As your copyeditor, the goal is to make your work cohesive, consistent, and complete. I will revise your draft to make it free of grammatical and factual errors and correct any awkward language and overly wordy sentences. I focus on grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax (sentence structure) for corrections. For formatting, I will ensure fonts, layout, and style consistency according to guidelines (i.e., APA, university, etc.). As a proofreader, I will minimize embarrassing mistakes before publication, specifically looking for and correcting typographical and grammatical errors. I will also detect inconsistency in layout or fonts. My proofreading service will be the final check of your written work before submission to the university, journal editors, or publishers. I primarily use Microsoft Word using track changes for editing and proofreading. I have also used Google Docs through suggesting mode and OverLeaf (LaTex) for previous client work. If requested, I can use these tools. I deliver the work in two versions: tracking and no tracking changes. I pride myself on time management. Upon contract agreement, we will discuss a reasonable deadline for your work. I will send you the deliverables on or before the deadline. If there are any delays, I will inform you immediately. I want to emphasize that good copyediting or proofreading occurs when it is not hurried. Rush editing/proofreading work will incur additional fees.Copyediting

Native English speaker/writer and published author. Owner and Chief Editor of Novel Treasure Publishing company. (see website at noveltreasurepublishing.com). Having served as a professional editor and writer for more than twelve years now, working with both fiction and nonfiction, my passion revolves around helping authors and publishers find the full potential of their manuscripts. I have an excellent eye for detail, and with my extensive background as both a ghostwriter and editor, I can be depended upon to offer professional guidance at every turn, eliminate errors and inconsistencies, and meet all deadlines. My clients are best-selling and award-winning authors, established publishers, and managers at Fortune Global 500 companies from all over the world. Experience the magic of your writing through an audience (reader)-centered empathy combined with editing strategies that attract more readers, bring on conversion power, and convey stories that stay with readers long after the last page has been turned. Specializing in longer story manuscripts, I help clients divide huge manuscripts into trilogies or series novels. I also edit to keep writing style, tone, characterizations, perspectives, dialogue punctuation, and other consistencies in place over the long haul. Such tasks involve tracking story development through many details in long written works and ensuring effective transitional writing. I also work as a writing coach, matching my talents to my clients' needs. I hire out as a 'book fixer' more often than as a ghostwriter. This means that I work through an already completed novel, elevating the writing and 'fixing' issues that come up in relation to the story, character, pacing, genre, etc. When it comes to nonfiction, I take on very few ghostwriting positions, and generally only consider projects where an author has already developed a fair amount of content that I can work from in terms of content, voice, and style. In each of these roles, I only take on projects that suit my skills--so, if you ask me to edit or write in a genre where I have no experience, I'll be the first to tell you I'm not your ideal fit. But, when I do take on a project, you can be sure that it will become a top priority and receive the attention and skill it deserves.Copyediting

Top skills in academic, business, fiction, and nonfiction for proofreading, editing, and formatting: Please note that I am a very detailed editor, and I don't usually accept unreasonable rush jobs. If in doubt, please ask though. I thrive on finding mistakes in grammar, spelling, context, syntax, redundancies, repetitions, punctuation, and in facts. The Chicago Manual of Style and APA are home for me, and Webster's Unabridged is my main daily haunt. I also work in MLA, GPO, Vancouver, Harvard, AMA, and AP as well. I love digging into research, too. Academics are my first love, but I am just as comfortable working with businesses and helping authors with their prose. I enjoy coaching and explaining why I am suggesting changes, so there can be growth on the author's part if so desired. It's not about the money—it's about the game! I like the challenge of finding as many errors as possible. I like the challenge of making you look your best. This is why I prefer flat rate to hourly. With a flat fee, the work can be developed without worry. It can be delivered with pride. Because my job is to make your work look good, in most cases, I can't do that while rushing. So unless a rush job is timed appropriately for the level of detailed editing that I do, I can't accommodate rush jobs. Feel free to ask though. It never hurts to ask. There are periods of downtime occasionally. And I like to give back to the community. So, if there isn't a lot of money to work with, please inquire. It never hurts to ask, and if I do have the time, I may be able to help. If you do, please mention that you read my review and would like help on the pricing. To learn about my editing process, ask me for my bio.Copyediting

Writer for B2B SaaS Companies and Travel/Outdoor Brands My career began by fostering a love for language as a high school English teacher. This experience instilled a deep appreciation for storytelling's power to connect and engage audiences. This passion for impactful narratives naturally translated to the world of B2B and B2C content strategy. Here, I excel at crafting compelling narratives that elevate the customer voice and champion the brands they believe in. My content work has boosted website traffic, increased newsletter subscriptions, and optimized paid campaigns, leading to enhanced brand visibility, trust, and credibility. While I relish the precision and impact of B2B content, venturing into outdoor writing lets me practice storytelling in a lively, dynamic environment. This work demands intensive research, expert interviews, and a deep empathy to place myself in the reader's shoes—understanding their curiosities and what drives them to action. My contributions to outdoor and travel campaigns are not just about promoting destinations; they're about building brand trust and authority with travel brands through authentic, engaging storytelling—mirroring the goals of B2B SaaS companies. What's in it for you? Are you ready to transform your brand's story from mundane to memorable? I specialize in ditching clichéd narratives to forge genuine connections that spark conversations and conversions. Let's connect and explore how your brand's story can become irresistibly engaging.Copyediting

I'm a writer, editor and marketing professional with 5 years of experience in communications roles. I have a BA in English, I write recreationally, and I have the annoying habit of editing everything I read as I read it. I'm looking for freelance proofreading work--I specialize in creative nonfiction and personal narrative, and am particularly qualified to help students with their college application essays. I never use AI in my work, whether I'm writing or editing. Some testimonials from former writing clients (mostly students at my university's writing center): - "She did a great job of giving me feedback on my personal statement and also guided me on how to improve part of my essay in my own words. I also submitted another part of my application via the online consultation and she gave strong and very specific advice on how I could make my writing better.” - “Brianne had the most helpful feedback I have ever received from the writing services. I truly felt that she was able to help me grasp the concepts I needed to in order to better the final draft of my paper. I am eternally grateful for her help.” - "She understood my questions and was able to provide immediate and direct feedback with a positive and learning conducive attitude. She was also patient with my questions, even the repetitive ones, allowing for a comfortable environment to ask for help.”Copyediting

I am an expert writer, editor, and producer with over 15 years of experience producing content for publications and businesses. I specialize in personal finance, insurance, renewable energy, customer experience, and consumer and enterprise technology. As a journalist, I've contributed bylined and ghostwritten work to publications like CNET, Entreprener, Inc., CIO Magazine, and St. Louis Business Journal. As a content marketer, copywriter, and editor, I've helped clients create a wide range of content and marketing collateral from white papers and case studies, to email campaigns and landing pages. My clients include Dow Jones, Bankrate, Credit Karma, Thumbtack, Red Ventures, Cyara, Enel X Way, and Streetlight Data. Through my experience with brand messaging and storytelling, I have learned to sift through disparate details to pull together a compelling narrative. If you have a message to get out or a story to tell, I can help you craft it — whether as a writer, editor, or content producer/strategist. Even if I don’t have direct experience in your subject or realm of expertise, I have the inquisitiveness and research skills to learn the ropes quickly. Drop me a DM to discuss your content and copywriting needs. _______________________ If you’re a publication or business looking for content or copywriting help, I offer work that falls into five categories. I can also provide consulting in any of these areas: Content Marketing I've crafted or edited compelling, audience-building content for many businesses. I ideate content, conduct informational and SEO research, interview subject matter experts, and write briefs. When I’m not dispatching this content to other writers and editing it, I write blog posts, articles, case studies, e-books, and white papers to help businesses deliver educational content, build brand authority, and grow audience reach and engagement. Copywriting I also offer copywriting and editing services to help businesses drive sales directly. I write email campaigns, social copy, digital ads, and landing pages — independently or as a unified campaign. If you need to tell your larger brand story or rework copy across your entire website, I can help you clarify your brand message and convey it in your voice. Service Journalism I’m a journalist at heart, with a degree in magazine journalism from one of the nation’s top journalism schools. In particular, I’m passionate about writing articles that inform readers about topics that touch on their everyday lives, from personal finance and green energy to consumer tech and mental wellness. I love to write clear, engaging content that empowers readers to take action — and helps digital publications build readership and engagement. Copyediting I’ve edited thousands of articles and other copy for publications and business clients, helping bring clarity and breathe life into dull and disorganized writing. If you require a content overhaul or need to produce a high volume of work, I can whip your copy into shape. Ghostwriting I've also helped entrepreneurs and thought leaders convert their ideas and expertise into writing. If you need to organize your thoughts and elevate your voice, I can help you clearly convey your message. Please see work samples below and reach out so we can discuss your content needs!Copyediting

I've spent more than 20 years on an interesting journey down the paths of writing, editing, teaching, and researching. I spent nearly five of those years working for a major health insurance company in St. Louis. During my time there I had the opportunity to work with both commercial and proprietary computer systems, manage data, provide service to the providers of the network, edit and proofread documents and directories, research and troubleshoot data issues, create training documentation, and teach new employees. Needing a bigger challenge, I then spent two years teaching English in Madrid, Spain and four additional summers doing the same at a summer camp in northern Spain. During that time I had the unique opportunity to teach with a wide variety of people from all walks of life: six-year olds to sixty-year olds; Spanish military colonel to retired carpenter; oil company to the Spanish mint; in homes and offices or at summer camps. I also continued my journey towards new, more interesting challenges: learning and developing as a freelance writer, editor, tutor, and academic researcher, with leanings towards online content research, development, presentation, and management. That has included blogging, travel writing, technical writing, academic research, and special projects, as well as learning and improving my use of content management tools such as MediaWiki, WordPress, LearnDash, and Moodle. (One of my biggest projects utilizing my skills is developing and curating some 99 percent of the content for LIMSwiki.org.) I also extended that journey by going back to university and getting a degree in library informatics. My applied interests include laboratory and scientific informatics, data management, data preservation, archiving, and related tools. Specialties: instructional writing, technical writing, content development, training material development, academic research, internet research, teaching, tutoring, editing, proofreading, Spanish-to-English translation, scientific informatics, laboratory informatics, data entry, Microsoft applications, MediaWiki, WordPress, LearnDash, Moodle, HTML 4.0+, web technology, social media technologyCopyediting

I collaborated on and edited several e-books, articles, short stories, buying guides, product descriptions, web content for four online businesses, as well as ghostwrote books on several subjects. Over the last 10 years, I have written curriculum and content for 11 classes in academic subjects and self-improvement. Do you think we would be a fit?Copyediting

Are you ready to take your product descriptions, category descriptions and meta descriptions to the next level? Do you want content that persuade consumers to BUY? Fresh, informative, and thoughtful content is where it's at! Forget run-of-the-mill content that sounds like every other product or recycled manufactured copy that does nothing to entice customers or help your SEO rankings. As your dedicated copywriter, I will convert your click-through visitors into paying clients with content that not only informs, but persuades customers to see how your product benefits them. It's time for content that lets a consumer see how their life can benefit from having your product or using your service. Turn passive views into that "I have to have this!" sale with descriptions that paint a picture and provide enticing insight into your product. What makes me the perfect copywriter for you? I have over six years experience specializing in writing product descriptions, catalog copy, meta descriptions, product reviews, Amazon descriptions, blog posts, product titles and more for a range of ecommerce and celebrity clients. I understand the importance of SEO and LSI keywords, and am familiar with how to work them into a description to improve rankings without penalization from "overstuffing." I work fast and pay attention to detail. I am creative, possess a fluent command of the English language and understand sales copy and what makes intriguing website content. I understand my niche well and produce quality work worth every penny. Some freelancers rush through their work and as a result, their copy is bland and lacks that spark that sells/highlights products, but I take pride in every word that goes into my copy and the results reflect that dedication and attention to detail. I believe that every product and company has a story to tell. Whether your vision for your descriptions includes poetic prose, conversation style, brief and to-the-point, descriptive and detailed, or lifestyle picture painting, I am your copywriter. -Jewelry/Fashion Product Descriptions -Babies/Toys/Family Product Descriptions -Housewares/Furniture Product Descriptions -Pet Product Descriptions -Education/Educational Product DescriptionsCopyediting
