Throughout my years of career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I held many multisectorial positions with great responsibility, leading different teams using political, diplomatic and communication skills, creating strategies based on national and international law, participating in high level meetings like the preparation of the nicaraguan UPR for human rights in 2019, its presentation and subsequent adoption of recommendations and the Review, likewise, my participation in more than 10 Human Rights Councils, as well as my participation in the nicaraguan Trade Policy Review to WTO in 2021 and in 4 World Health Assemblies, including the negotiation of the COVAX mechanism during the COVID 19 pandemic and several International Labour Conferences. In 2022, I was representing the Permanent Mission of Nicaragua before the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs) which includes the related topics to human rights, the Fourth Committee, decolonization issues and matters related to the Security Council. My active participation among several meetings and negotiations, allowed me to understand the UN system, the OHCHR and others different related bodies, including but not limited to ECOSOC, CERD, CAT, CSW, CCPR and CEDAW, negotiating historic resolutions and agreements in the UN context and chairing the 8th Meeting of the States Parties to the Cluster Weapons Convention. I also chaired the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) for Human Rights issues and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in which I had organizational and reporting functions to other member states. As a Permanent Representative of a Member State of the United Nations, on many occasions I was representing different regional groups or like-minded groups, I have had to deal with situations that involved many diplomatic and negotiation skills in order to find consensus between member states and international organizations. Likewise, during My Presidency of the 8th Meeting of States Parties to the Cluster Weapons Convention in 2018, I had to deal with external partners, multi stakeholders and other international and regional organizations to find common ground and provide a comprehensive result to satisfy everyone involved, with a proposal for unity in diversity. During these years I have dealt with different political processes, including negotiations involving different international organizations and providing media representation in accordance with the functions of the Head of a Mission. Finally, I would like to provide and share my experience, my work and efforts in favor of the most needy, with compassion and solidarity. In this regard I have a lot of experience working under pressure in negotiations with the UN system and Governments of member states. I also have strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills with a strong network management knowledge, establishing an important connection with decision makers between governments, international organizations and NGOs in different regions of the world.
