    Originating from Chicago, IL Eyllah Babbitt was able to train at both Evanston Dance Center and Extensions Dance Company. Under the watchful eye of Lizzie MacKenzie, Eyllah Babbitt was able to be a part of a pre-professional dance company. They were able to train with professionals from all over the city. This includes Imani English, Jackie Nowicki, Jared Baker, Katie Mccann, Tatyana Mazur, Garth Johnson, and Taylor Mitchel. Eyllah Babbitt has also performed in a number of showcases and festivals across the Chicago area and suburbs. Some of these include: REtro on Roscoe Street Festival, Dance for the Drive Concert, the Fox Valley Showcase, and the Extensions Dance Company yearly showcases. Their time as a contemporary competition dancer allowed them to expand their training. They performed often at different smaller competitions, and attended multiple bigger conventions including ASH and NYCDA. They have received multiple different awards at these competitions including a choreography award, and first overall. Eyllah Babbitt moved to New York City in 2021, and is a NYC-based freelance dancer, teacher and choreographer. They currently attend New York University as a senior double majoring in Dance and Anthropology. They will receive both a BA and a BFA. During their time at NYU Eyllah was able to perform in works by Laja Martin and Kyle Abraham. Attending NYU has allowed them to explore and experiment with choreography. Eyllah Babbitt has been able to present their choreography in Choreographers, Composers and Designers Concert, Dance and Technology Concert, and Tisch Dance Works. These include small groups, solos, and large groups. Eyllah has also been experimenting with different dance styles like Ballroom. They are a part of the New York University Ballroom and Latin dance team, and is an amateur ballroom dancer who has placed first in multiple different competitions. They also enjoy taking open classes throughout the city at both Peridance and Broadway Dance Center. Eyllah Babbitt's passion for dance has taken them around the world, and they have participated in multiple summer intensives. These include; Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Hubbard Street Dance, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, b12 Summer Dance Intensive, and WADE Summer Dance Intensive. Although they eventually see themselves abroad, Eyllah has a goal of exploring the New York City dance scene. They are constantly on the lookout for new choreography projects, and is very interested in expanding their movement repertoire. Eyllah Babbitt also has a passion for using their dance skills in the non-profit sphere. From 2024-2025 they will be an ArtistYear AmeriCorps Resident Teaching Artist, with a focus on teaching dance to a wide variety of students from different economic backgrounds. They look forward to planting roots in New York City, and is hopeful for what the future will bring.
