These systems all have a few concepts in common: maintaining past, present, and future information. I have managed small technical teams and entire projects, however, I am not looking for a management role at this time. Most recently, I designed and implemented the following projects: • Data Sourcing to Maintain Fresh Data. I wrote programs to extract information from websites for inclusion into local databases. These programs used tools such as Nokogiri to extract the information using the HTML elements, as well as JSON calls to grab large volumes of data in a single HTTP transfer. • API Conversations for Automated Data Transfers. I wrote Linux BASH scripts (and occasionally Ruby scripts) with HTTP URLs to authenticate and transfer information between existing databases. One such script was an API interface to allow business websites to be centrally managed by uploading information about each retail location to Google_My_Business in large blocks. Another script was an API interface to Twilio, which was used to transmit daily appointment schedules (ie. PDF documents) as faxes. • Cron (Linux) Jobs for Prescheduled Daily Tasks. Jobs were scheduled to run at certain times during the day, to automatically perform the required tasks, and simply report their success or failure to be followed-up manually. I excel in the following areas: CONSISTENCY. LOGIC. UNAMBIGUOUS COMMUNICATION AND DOCUMENTATION. My database expertise goes well beyond the typical “everything is SQL”. I have experience in many other types of databases, and other methods of extracting useful BI (Business Intelligence) from data. Visualization is a large part of data mining, especially when presenting to the “C‑Suite”. For me, data is the most important aspect of the job, and languages are merely tools that can be used to manipulate the data.Data Management
