Scott Achankeng better known as A.S_Kengart is an accomplished visual, contemporary and mural artist, who began his career in his home country 'Cameroon' (Central Africa). He studied art from the age of eleven(11), with over six years of professional education, including numerous artist in residency programs and courses, which led to him receiving several trophies, accolades and monetary awards. Most of these courses were facilitated by artists from across the globe such as the US, France, Senegal, China, Tunisia and Algeria.....to name a few. Kengart holds a B.F.A and an M.F.A in fine art. He uses a wide range of mediums, amongst which are acrylics and oils that are used varyingly on his surrealistic portraits of humans, animals and landscapes, creating a nuance in contemporary abstraction with images that evoke questions about lost traditions and the modern Man. The artist has had the opportunity to work with an array of reputable art galleries both in the United States and back in his home country (collectively and individually). A few of these were Cité De Ville (in the capital city of Yaounde 2009), Carré Des Artist (in the commercial city of Douala 2011-2012), The Quinlan Visual Art Center, Gainesville Georgia 2017, The University of Texas at San Antonio Art gallery 2021-2022, alongside being featured at the Basel Art Miami 2022 with ‘The Eye Of The Beholder Art Gallery’. Besides his vigorous passion for painting and drawing, the artist for over a decade, takes time out of each year to volunteer as art instructor, teaching kids and adults with disabilities, as well as introducing art as a therapy for healing.
