I am a very well rounded engineer who has worked to bring several products to market from the concept stage. My design process is very analytical and data driven, stemming from a strong academic background. I pick up necessary skills rapidly, spanning mechanical, electrical, and software engineering expertise. I spent the past 3 years building a company and leading a team to bring a very technical product to market for ESD mitigation. I work well as an individual contributor or as a part of a small team.EagleRaspberry PiMQTTJavaScriptBluetooth LEMATLABPythonAutodesk Fusion 360Creo ParametricSolidWorksC++Embedded CMechatronicsEmbedded ApplicationProduct Development - $72 hourly

Hi, I'm Nick. Do you need a mechanical model designed in SolidWorks? A custom PCB in Altium Designer? I have 10+ years experience designing a variety of products for small startups of all kinds. I've just finished working as a systems engineer for an engineering and industrial automation firm called Applied Design Corp in beautiful Boulder, CO. I have experience in leading complex projects from conception, through design, sourcing parts and labor, to final production. My strengths are in taking loose ideas for a project, breaking it down into easy to understand pieces, and finding the tools, information, and talent needed to make it real. I'm very interdisciplinary, I have extensive experience with complex CAD models, generating files for manufacture, and managing the manufacturing process. I've designed complex multi-processor control boards, selecting components, designing the schematic, laying out the PCB, and managing manufacturing. I've planned and managed in-house production of projects ranging from small runs of robotic manipulators to hundreds of nodes of an interactive art piece thousands of LFP battery modules and hundreds of thousands of plastic injection molded parts. I also started a business developing drones for open-pit mine surveying before drones were cool. Thanks for your consideration!
