Strengths and Skills: Information architect and liaison – I interview my clients to gain an understanding of their business, products, services, and clients, and structure relationship-building marketing content the way THEIR clients need to receive it while adhering to SEO best practices. Custom marketing strategies – For the last decade, I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes – multi-million dollar corporations, luxury brands, contractors, and sole proprietorships. I am able to construct marketing, social media, email, web, and event strategies that meet my clients exactly where they are with a focus on growth and development. Relationship-building content – While I understand that AI is all the rage and can add value in some applications, it should not be used to build relationships with your existing or future customers. The more digital we become, the more humans crave real connections – and real connections aren't built using machines. As a student of HubSpot and Marcus Sheridan’s “They Ask, You Answer,” I have learned the most effective way to grow a business digitally: Nurturing customers and prospects through the buyer journey with relatable, helpful, relationship-building content, clever strategies, and creative campaigns. Project manager: As a lead project manager on websites and print magazines, I’m well-versed in project management, processes, and consistent outcomes. Kat's writing is on time and on budget and she works well with autonomy while bringing an organized sense of being to the project. Our organization has worked with Kat both on internal agency writing needs as well as client writing needs. She has the depth of a writer that is necessary to engage with different industry projects." Kelsea Schreiner, Strategic Director Kinetic Marketing & Creative "When I hired Kat to assist with my web copy, my website had stalled out for over a year. She quickly assessed what remained to be done, took notes from me on the information needed for the website, and composed those notes into web copy. She then engaged with the web developer, and in a matter of a couple of weeks (this included having professional images taken), my site was ready to be launched. I highly recommend Kat to businesses that need assistance with their web copy. She can take your knowledge and craft it into easily digestible content that is optimized for search engines. She is super-efficient, and very easy to work with." Dave Redkey Owner, Redkey Refrigeration "I own a fly fishing lodge in Dillon, Montana, and each year I am tasked with the best way to fill fly fishing trips and the lodge. I contracted with Kat to build a blog site for me, as well as design and write an email campaign for me. Kat took the time to get to know me, my business, and my potential clients. Armed with that information, she designed and built an optimized blog site for me that we linked to in our email campaign. I have been working as a journalist for several years and have four years of experience as a senior reporter for two county newspapers. I specialize in journalism, Associated Press (AP) style writing, academic writing, press releases, film marketing and creative writing. Currently, I am a creator on Vocal+ where I interview independent film directors, producers, editors, on-screen talent, podcast hosts, etc. and publish articles on their shorts and feature films. I’m well versed in topics such as NFTs, cryptocurrencies and blockchain layer 2 technologies. Often, I am given screening privileges from filmmakers, therefore my work also entails writing unbiased film reviews and some blogging on other varying topics. I have had articles published in three newspapers, posted on several national websites, referenced in blogs and am anonymously published in an eye donor memorial book. Through my blog, I have had the opportunity to be a guest on three separate film/entertainment podcasts to represent my articles/interviews. In one county with some nine communities, I reported on all local government meetings, K-12 school news, small business news, public library updates, feature stories, development projects, police reports, health department reports, disaster preparedness, emergency planning, local history, hospital news, weather updates & storm reports, school board meetings, non-profit organization events, fundraisers and photography. I am comfortable with writing about other topics as well. I can write press releases, AP-style written articles, blog content, website content, product descriptions, reviews, advertisements, radio interview scripts, obituaries, letters and speeches. I have one year of experience as an assistant marketing director for two sister hospitals. My duties were writing press releases, developing event themes, writing newsletters, advertising and hosting events, galas and numerous fundraisers. I wrote the scripts for several radio advertisements and also did the voice-overs.EditingSEO WritingWritingFilmAcademic WritingEditorial WritingAP Style WritingAcademic ProofreadingBlog WritingNews WritingArticle WritingBlog CommentingJournalism WritingContent Writing - $25 hourly

Since completion of my studies I have gone on to be a writer and editor for an ethical fashion magazine called Vashti. Vashti has since changed hands but most of my writing experience comes from this project.
