Compared 3 versions (1888, 1898 …) of first-hand typed and handwritten manuscripts and contrasted them with final novel and events in author’s life with the novel’s themes with particular focus on race.
Nazi Science and “War on Cancer,” May 2018
Examined Nazi human experiments from 1933 to 1945 focusing on the use of the term “cancer” as a euphemism for “Jews” and its usefulness as a propaganda tool. Compared contemporary scientific research methods, cancer research, the word “cancer” itself to their former applications and the effects of Nazi research and how the tainted connotation thereof informed today’s research.
Photography Ethics in Journalism, November 2017
Analyzed multiple photojournalists who have been noted as experiencing psychological problems while working in their line of work. Used these examples to explore the decline in funding for on-staff photojournalists for major news networks and lack of mental health services available to them.
