I was part of two different projects in the past. One was an indie roguelike video game with a team as a writer/content creator. The other was as a writer for a team creating a tabletop RPG. For the video game, the whole developer team was small. There were four of us. One programmer, one artist, and I was one of two writers. It is a roguelike pirate game. The programmer utilized Unity to create a decision tree-style tool for the writers where we could develop each level detail by detail. We wrote every piece of dialogue, decided what type of monsters to fight and when, what items they could find, etc. This not only helped me with my writing skills, but it gave me a great perspective on game flow and gameplay mechanics. For the tabletop RPG game, I helped build the world and create lore. It was a lot of fun and different from my video game experience. This was purely writing and world-building, which is my absolute favorite creative outlet, and I loved it. I have some of this writing in my portfolio as writing examples.
