Here's a little bit about my story: I started my career in the service industry, working for a small, independent cafe, where I eventually took on the role of management for the opening of their third location, where I got an insight in how to run and develop a company from the inside. I was fascinated and intrigued by entrepreneurs, and ended up managing several small-scale restaurants and cafees in the years to come. As this interest grew, I found a course in Australia specialising in marketing and starting a new business. I learned a lot about starting and running a company and how important the presentation of a company is, from the first meeting on Social Media, to communication and the service given to clients, as well as the structure and organization within the business. Last year I joined the start-up of a successful retreat, Meadowsweet Retreat, consulted for their bar in Bulgaria, developed a successful pop-up concept for a 5-star luxury resort in Tuscany, and have just embarked on my own little event-company journey. At the same time, I have started taking on different projects here on Upwork, where I do translation, transcribing, content writing and proofreading. These projects have required me to jump in to different roles, where I have learned to take responsibility for myself and my own development, as well as the success of the businesses I have worked for. When I worked as a receptionist for a small, family-owned hotel in Lofoten Islands(Solsiden Brygge), my work-day consisted largely of communication with customers by mail, phone and in-person - I organized stays and activities for private clients as well as companies. My responsibilities also included updating our webpage, as well as external websites such as booking.com and Airbnb, adjusting prizes according to availability and season in order to increase sales and maximise profit.
