Who am I? What can I do for you? I am a writer, copywriter, translator and editor with a 15-year experience in print and digital media (US and EU publications). I’ve done a bit of everything; from leading global editorial teams and content creation to social media strategy, advertising client campaigns and e-mail marketing. I like to think of myself as a “one-woman content machine”. Currently I'm freelancing for magazines and websites such as Marie Claire, Greatist, Culture Trip and Expat.com I was born in Athens, Greece. After an 8-year tenure in Condé Nast magazines (as Senior Editor at CN's Greek subsidiary, Liberis Publications) and 5 years as the Editorial Director of NYC-based daily-newsletter-cum-global-lifestyle-website Savoteur, I decided to relocate to Scandinavia for a better work-life balance. I live in Sweden, where I also study Film and Cultural Studies. I am a storyteller at heart. I’d love to create stories around your brand that will have people feeling things and clicking for more. I am also an editor who enjoys shifting through pages of text in order to make sure it's typo-free and punchy. I believe content is King, but the ability to distribute it properly across multimedia platforms is Queen. And Queen always wins the game.Fiction Writing

I have honed my understanding of narrative structure over five years of reading professionally for several prominent production companies in London and over the past two years working as a freelance editor. My writing journey started when I was very young, but it began to take proper shape twenty years ago when I wrote my first full-length novel and published it--chapter by chapter--online. I also started taking courses in screenwriting and ended up going to university to study Film and Literature. The heart of any narrative, whether that narrative is in the shortest form imaginable or a thousand-page tale, is how it is relatable to the reader--this is what pulls a reader in and, preferably, has them sharing the text with everyone they know. The characters will always be the guiding light into what will make a narrative effectively relatable. I always start there. I’m an efficient researcher and am used to deep-diving into unknown territory, finding different angles, and following threads of information needed for any given project. Some research even proves to deepen a project, or change its angle completely, which is always interesting. I have an open mind that’s always curious. I enjoy learning and growing, which is what I love most about writing. It’s an ever-evolving set of skills, and with every new opportunity, I acquire another tool for the toolbox. I’m flexible and outgoing, aiming to provide any client with the most outstanding freelance service. I’m bilingual - my native language is Swedish - and my English is impeccable, both written and verbal. I believe in open communication and a fair wage. If you do not include all that is required of me during our initial discussion regarding my hourly fee, or if you realise you would wish me to take on a higher workload after I’ve begun working with you, I will always be happy to discuss and adjust. At times it can be difficult for you to know the amount of work you’re requiring from me. I wish for absolute transparency for both our sakes and consider it part of my role as a freelancer to be able to navigate us through any needed discussion. I thank you for your consideration. Warmest regards, AnnelieFiction Writing

I have been working as a freelance translator for the last two years, working mostly with private individuals on smaller projects. Most of the translations have been English-Swedish, with the occasional Swedish-English. Sometimes I have also been asked to proofread their documents. My native tongue is Swedish, but I have studied the English language for several years. I have always thought of it as a fun and easy language to learn, and I have gotten plenty of practice while writing both for personal and academic purposes. Apart from this I also have a bachelor’s degree in linguistics. Through the years I have taken many different classes. Everything from commercial writing and copywriting, to several creative writing classes in Swedish and in English. I always work hard to make sure I never miss a deadline, and I like to think of myself as a reliable person. Now I am looking forward to my next project.Fiction Writing
