I am Enes Sedat Ulucam, a 4th-year medical student at Istanbul Medipol University-School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. My current GPA is 3.12, and I am fully committed to my medical studies, building a strong academic foundation.
I have gained valuable experience as an intern and undergraduate researcher at two prestigious neuroscience labs. At the KILIC Neuroscience Lab within the Medipol Remer Regenerative and Restorative Medicine Research Center, I am involved in studying chronic epilepsy treatment. Additionally, at the HANOGLU Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, located at the Istanbul Medipol MEGA Hospital, I focus on exploring non-invasive treatment methods for neurodegenerative diseases.
I also served as an editor at the Medipol SABITA Society, a news crew reporting on scientific breakthroughs across Medipol research centers. My role involved contributing to the dissemination of scientific knowledge and advancements.
Furthermore, I have been actively engaged in the scientific community as a panelist and lecturer at the Global Peer-to-Peer Initiative, associated with the American Academy of Neurology. I am committed to sharing knowledge and contributing to the field of neurology.
I possess both in vivo laboratory skills and clinical laboratory skills. In the in vivo laboratory, I have experience working with various animal models such as mice and rats, studying conditions like cold injury, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, spinal cold injury, and stroke, and performing intracranial injections. I am also skilled in ECoG recording and analysis, as well as behavioral analysis in rodents.
In the clinical laboratory, I have performed EEG recordings and analysis on neurodegenerative disease patients, applied TMS treatment on Alzheimer's disease patients, and conducted neuropsychological tests on dementia patients, including assessments like AdasCog, NPI, Beck Depression Inventory, and MMSE.
I have demonstrated leadership abilities as the founder and co-director of the Medipol Scientific Research Society, a student organization dedicated to scientific lectures and panel organization. Additionally, I served as a panel organizer and coordinator at the Future Science Forum 2021. Moreover, I worked as a lecturer and program coordinator at the Hayat Foundation, showcasing my commitment to giving back and making a positive impact in the community.
