★★★★★ "Wonderful to work with! Extremely responsive and willing to make things perfect!"
As a story consultant, film school mentor, and film editor for short and feature documentaries, I come in at various stages of development to provide high-level guidance on editorial/creative input, producing issues, and fundraising.
I will help elevate your narrative into a cohesive, engaging, socially relevant, festival-worthy film.
Whether you only need me for one hour to discuss the project's general direction or would like to engage me throughout the film's development as a Consulting Producer, my own low-to-no-budget filmmaking background means I have been through all stages and aspects of production, while never losing sight of the big picture.
I can help you uncover the visual and narrative structure, assist with micro-pacing and macro-pacing through editing, work in scenes and sections and cut out the fluff to make the heart of what you want to convey more accessible.
Some things I typically help with:
- One-on-one consultations
...to ensure the coherence of the shooting plan in order to get the best material and save money
...in production to review footage and talk about possible additional shoots
...in post-production to get an outside creative sounding board about the film's rough cut
...to review your film trailer
- Shaping pitch decks for investors, crew, and other stakeholders
- Assisting with film grant and film development proposals
-(Re)writing treatments, synopses and loglines or coaching you to do it by yourself
- Discovering the true meaning of your story, whether in pre-production or by
- Discussing visual and narrative themes, symbols and motifs of your story
- Editing your film
I have worked on incredible multi-million film projects such as 'Ronaldinho: The Happiest Man in the World', now airing on FIFA+.
My own feature documentaries "My Human Self" (2017) and "Nowhere to Go" (2022) premiered at one of the top 10 documentary film festivals worldwide, Thessaloniki. The former won awards in Greece, Turkey, and the UK. My latest fiction short film also toured European festivals such as Raindance and aired on national TV.
My client Janyl Jusupjan's latest project has been selected for EsoDoc at Bonzano and CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator in Novi Sad for development.
I am a postgraduate mentor at De Montfort University, where I provide industry, academic and technical support to students within the MA and BA Film programmes. There, I also teach a Project Skills Lab called "Making the No-Budget Documentary".
I have a BA (Hons) in Social Studies: Social Policy, an MSc in Business Management, and an MA (distinction) in Film.
I speak native-level English, German and Greek, conversational Spanish, and basic French.
I’m primarily interested in character-driven Narrative and Documentary Films, but I often also help content creators of Vlogs or Online Courses that teach something valuable like music, languages, fitness, well-being, and knowledge.
I look forward to hearing from you about your documentary and non-fiction project!
