Hello! My name is Steve DiCasa. Long story short: I have over 20 years of filmmaking experience, and ten years of experience working with high-profile clients to achieve their goals. I write the creative, shoot, edit, and sometimes even star in the videos I produce. I hope to work together with you! I’m also a filmmaking educator on YouTube, with my channel, DiCasaFilm, having over 81,000 subscribers. Want to learn more? Read on! Long story long: I am a 2nd generation Italian-American and grew up in Queens, NY. I studied Film and Video at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, where my focus was Directing. I freelanced on different types of narrative, documentary, and live-event productions both throughout college and after graduating. Eventually, I landed myself a full-time position working for a company called Maker Studios, which was at one time YouTube’s largest multi-channel network. The company merged with Disney during my employment, becoming Disney Digital Networks. It was there that I met my eventual business partner, Cody. Both being filmmakers and drawn to each other’s passion, we created a narrative film together called The Homeless, which was an official selection of the 2015 Boston International Film Festival. Cody and I then left Maker in October of 2015, and founded our own company, Rethink Films. We conceptualized, scripted, pitched, produced, edited, and delivered a variety of content for brands like Christie’s, Bonhams, Tweezerman, Dartmouth Health, Safehold / iStar, and dozens more. We also collaborated on many creative projects during this time by keeping on-going relationships with former Maker Studios / Disney alumni. We ran Rethink together for 7 years. In December of 2022, I stepped away from the company due to lasting effects from the pandemic and moved to beautiful central Pennsylvania. I tried my hand at the corporate world and worked for a credit union in their marketing department as the lead video creator. Unfortunately, there was little room for creativity or growth, and so I left after a year and decided to go full freelancer. Which is why I’m here! And of course, all throughout this time I have made filmmaking-related tutorials on Youtube, and plan to revamp the channel as soon as possible, as well as start a podcast. Stay tuned! I pride myself on my creativity, my ability to communicate clearly throughout the collaborative process, and my confidence in creating engaging content.
