I am a composer, musician and arranger. I started playing piano in my early childhood and begun composing somewhere along the line as a natural extension of that. After graduating in Music and English Literature from Cardiff University, I put my interest in both subjects into practice by composing for theatre and film. Highlights of this musical journey so far include composing soundtracks for the Science Museum's 'Collider' exhibition, the Sherman Theatre's production of Hedda Gabler and the St Tropez International Film Festival's Official Selection, Aurélia. Alongside film and theatre work, I also enjoy composing music on its own merits and have enjoyed writing for a wide range of instruments and ensembles - from solo piano to full orchestra; from folk band to modular synths. I have recently released an album of solo piano-based compositions. My ability to learn, analyse and play music by ear has also made me an adaptable and engaging orchestrator / arranger and I have had the pleasure of working on string, brass and choir arrangements for a number of theatre scores, bands and artists, using my keen ear for musical detail to capture and evoke the nuances of other people's work. In 2016 I created string arrangements for Damian Montagu's 'In A South Downs Way' album which reached No. 1 in the UK Classical Chart. I also perform as a session pianist, similarly conveying the nuances of a recording while hopefully adding some new and interesting ideas to the mix. Additionally, I am a co-founder of Sandtimer, an indie folk band that has toured extensively around the UK, Canada and Europe and recently received its millionth stream online!
