FREE Consultations on all projects! I split my time between Las Vegas, NV and Florida to better serve my clients on each coast.
Extrovert trapped in a CPA body. While I have the requisite skills and degrees to perform complex accounting functions from audits to corporate income tax returns I really love to help companies grow or get their house in order. I would be bored if I had to sit in a room auditing the same clients all day year after year. I love to help start-ups and hyper growth companies with exciting and unlimited upside.
After graduating from Stetson University (1988) in Deland, FL with my Bachelor of Accounting degree and Post Baccalaureate I moved to Ft Lauderdale to work for Keefe, McCullough & Co. While there I passed the CPA exam (1989). Since then I have worked with various accounting firms from national firms to eventually opening my own practice so that I could focus on the industries that I enjoyed most.

Favorite Projects:
Working on various companies owned by H. Wayne Huizenga. Only person to build 3 fortune 500 companies including Waste Management, Blockbuster Video and AutoNation.
I was also fortunate enough to work on some of his lesser known projects including garbage companies and bottled water in the 1980's. Somehow he knew bottled water would become the behemoth it is today. I have a great story to tell you when we meet.
Industry experience:
Restaurant & Bar:
I grew up in Florida to an entrepreneurial family. My parents started with Fat boys BBQ and then helped open the first Sonnys BBQ franchise in Ocala, FL (1977). They then operated the second franchise in Belleview. Bussed my first table at age 8 and then slowly worked my way thru every role in these restaurants. Loved every minute of the operations. When I wasn't playing football or baseball I was working the Pit in our family restaurant.
During my college years (1983-1988) I worked some bookkeeping jobs, but being near Daytona Beach in the 80's I found myself loving bartending. The restaurant bug was strong with me.
While being a CPA I worked on the books for many restaurants and bars. Then in the 90's while operating my CPA firm I was part owner in a sports bar we built and operated from scratch. Eventually selling to Hooters.
Late 1999 - 2006 I assisted a client grow from 1 Hungry Howie's franchise to 18 through out the state. Some were built from scratch and some were acquired.
Real Estate, Construction and Development:
This business always interested as my best friend in High Schools family were residential builders. Throughout my accounting career I had general contractors and many subs as clients. Subs included masonry, framing, roofing, civil engineers, surveying, concrete, landscaping, land development and site preparation. General contractors that performed residential and commercial projects.
Notable achievement. Around 1998 I wanted to own my own building for my practice. Why rent forever if you can own for the same amount. After many discussions with my construction clients I decided to build my own office. Purchases 1 acre lot and built a 9,000 sq foot building. Sold 3 of the 2,250 sq ft offices to an attorney, insurance and investment firm. Made enough to own my unit for free!
That first building was fun and too easy. So we then expanded. Purchased 5 acres and did the infrastructure to create almost 50,000 sq feet of pad ready building lots. all of this went really well until the Great Recession. Then I learned the hard way that things can't last forever.
2006 the family moves to Las Vegas after hurricanes beat up central Florida the prior year. One of my customers did high end construction on the strip and owned a a horse farm in Ocala. Having been friends for years I finally made the plunge. Timing is everything. work was good for a short while and the Great Recession brought Vegas to its knees.
Since 2008 I have been either a CFO and controller for various companies and consult many clients. The most fun entity was the World Series of Golf that we took public.
Well I am out of space to write anymore. I am happy to meet with or discuss your projects.
Thank you and I look forward to assisting you with your accounting and financial needs.
