My name is Scott, I'm a CFO specializing in joining businesses that are need clean up of their books and getting them into a position where their books can be used for decision making by the leadership team. I've spent the last 15 years in finance and the last 10 years in CFO positions for fast moving tech and service companies in New York, Toronto, London and Sydney. Establish what is on fire the most first - this is generally accounts receivable and out of control spending 2. Put strong guard rails in place for AR to get cash in bank as fast as possible 3. Identify and dial back spend that isn't helping the business grow - this is usually software cost that has gotten out of control and poor credit card controls being in place 4. Review the state that the accounts are in and get them up to date to be a reliable source of information 5. Put in month end processes to keep accounts up to date 6. Put a financial plan in place with cashflow forecast, budgets and a regular reporting cadence for senior leaders 7. Advice on what can be done in the business to get to cashflow positive 8. Take charge of implementing the financial strategy to get there I do this in conjunction with an offshore team of bookkeepers (included in my cost). I have trained and grown over the last decade. I bring my business experience and advice while having them implement the grunt work under my supervision.
