    After completing my MS in Electrical Engineering from Linkoping University Sweden, I started my PhD in field of Medical Image processing from COMSATS University Islamabad. The research involved the exploration of inverse problems for MR image reconstruction (Publication: Singular Value Decomposition Using Jacobi Algorithm in pMRI and CS). I also worked on the acceleration of Image Reconstruction algorithms using Graphics Processing Units (Publication: Optimizing Image Reconstruction in SENSE Using GPU). I used C++ and CUDA architecture to exploit the parallelism in MRI reconstruction algorithms. I had also worked (In Linkoping University with Dr. J. Jacob Wikner during my PhD from April – September 2017) on designing a Chip for the proposed algorithm for real time image reconstruction on MRI scanners (Publication: ASIC Model of SENSE to Accelerate MR Image Reconstruction). The publication was in lime light among researchers from different countries at Joint Annual Meeting of ISMRM and ESMRMB, organized in June 2018 in Paris France. During my PhD, I also learnt about the process of data generation from within the tissues. I have also studied and understood how the protons within the tissue are excited to generate required signals for image acquisition. The understanding of the data generation principles helped me a lot to understand and develop the reconstruction algorithms efficiently and to perform real time reconstruction of MR images. I worked on different MR acquisition principles where the data was acquired from multichannel receiver coils. The algorithms, involved in my research, are capable of incorporating the sensitivity maps which are acquired from multichannel receiver coils to get artifact free images. I worked on different algorithms which include SENSE (an image domain-based reconstruction algorithm to get artifact free image from multichannel data), GRAPP (a k-space based reconstruction method to reconstruct multichannel undersampled data without the need to sensitivity maps) and Compressed Sensing (which is an iterative approach to get reconstructed images). I have worked on an advanced algorithm of Compressed Sensing (known as L+S Decomposition Model) where we separate the heart structure and blood flowing within the heart. It is a time domain approach as it separates this information present in different frames. All the algorithms mentioned here are very time-consuming processes. So, to overcome this issue, I designed parallel architecture of all these models which is executed on GPUs (using multiple cores). The results achieved from GPUs are significantly improved in terms of reconstruction time, but still we have issues with limited memory available for computation on GPUs. So, after completing my PhD in September 2018, I started exploring application of deep learning for bio-medical image processing. I have studies about the different platforms which could be used for deep learning (using tensor-flow). There are different networks which include U-Net and variational networks, which are to be used for biomedical imaging. Until know (after reading about deep learning in medical image processing) I can safely say that deep learning seems to be the future of medical imaging. Moreover, I have been involved in hardware work on Raspberry pi and microcontrollers. I have been involved in robot competitions as well. I am also involved in PLC and SCADA work. We have been working in industry for past 8 year. We have worked on PLCs in Engro Fertilizers, Cigarette Companies, Pharmaceuticals etc.
