The responsibilities the position involved: liaising with a wide spectrum of people in and outwith The Glasgow School of Art; aiding the Exhibitions Director in delivering a high-quality programme of large-scale contemporary events and exhibitions (up to 40 per year); maintaining a safe, healthy and inclusive workspace with professional development opportunities at the core; delivering a specified Cultural Engagement programme alongside that of the gallery; maintaining the presence of the gallery via print, online, and social media platforms; staff management; working with finance systems and maintaining the budget; and overall project management. The position required a great deal of flexibility and an open-minded approach to every task. Due to the busy nature of the work, the ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of quality work under pressure was essential. Alongside my studies and work, I have continuously supplemented with various freelance work as a writer, semiotics consultant and voice actor. I have enjoyed the variety of these briefs offered to me, and always completed jobs well and to deadline.
