A brief list of items I've edited and/or proofread: 8 Steps to Better Security: A Simple Cyber Resilience Guide for Business, 2021 Remote Work Technology: Keeping Your Small Business Thriving From Anywhere by Henry Kurkowski, 2021 SQL for Data Scientists: A Beginner’s Guide for Building Datasets for Analysis by Renee M Teate, 2021 The Art of Attack: Attacker Mindset for Security Professionals, 1st Edition, by Maxie Reynolds, 2021 Decisively Digital: From Creating a Culture to Designing Strategy by Alexander Loth, 2021 Visual Studio Code for Python Programmers, 1st Edition, by April Speight, 2021 Gifted Myths: An Easy-to-Read Guide to Myths on the Gifted and Twice-Exceptional by Kathleen Spotify Campaigns (Wrapped 2020, 2021, “Only You” Campaign 2021) - final proofreading of in-app and promotional content Promotional emails for Amex rewards (as a freelancer for Ergo, inc.) I do copy editing, line editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and style guide development. I have experience with technical documentation, web content, email newsletters, product packaging, cookbooks, nonfiction, translations, and ESL/EFL. I was previously an editor for the press arm of a nonprofit, which gave me experience in publishing through Amazon KDP; I have created book layouts in Adobe InDesign for both print and Kindle (fixed and reflowable formats). For the nonprofit, I regularly edited and proofread books, monthly email newsletters, and author submissions to a quarterly, online journal. Currently, the bulk of my work is final proofreading of books on technical topics (programming, ethical hacking, security, etc.). I have also edited Spotify engineering blogs and done final proofreading of Spotify Wrapped (promotional content and the content that users see in-app and online) for 2020 and 2021. Though I have many interests, I am particularly well-versed in mental health issues, special education needs, psychology, and neurobiology. With my strong language skills, I particularly love working with ESL/EFL. I worked as a TEFL/TESOL instructor and English editor for three years in Prague, Czech Republic, and I still speak some Czech; I'm currently studying for the Spanish DELE C1 proficiency exam and French DELF C1; can read and have simple conversations in German; am conversational in Italian and Portuguese; took a year of Arabic (MSA) at the University of Washington; and am currently learning Russian and Swedish. Lastly, as a web and eLearning developer for the past 20+ years, I'm an expert in CMS (particularly Wordpress), HTML, CSS, XML, and other web scripting languages.Frontend DevelopmentHTMLMicrosoft OfficeAdobe InDesignAP Style WritingXHTMLProofreadingPDF ProAmazon Web ServicesFront-End DevelopmentCopy EditingCSSWordPressChicago Manual of StyleAdobe Photoshop - $80 hourly
