Difficulties faced by the client Due to widely spread subsidiaries into the various parts of the world, the major difficulty was to prepare a consolidated financial statements due to diversified accounting period, systems, procedures, taxation principles followed by each of the subsidiaries located all over the world and guided by the accounting rules and principles of their own country laws. Measures to mitigate the difficulties With the help of the system, the company developed a customized software under SUN ERP platform where each of the subsidiaries would input their accounting figures from their own trial balance through the help of remote access into the main server which was located centrally. The subsidiaries continued to carry on their own accounting system as per their own accounting rules and regulations and in order to facilitate global consolidation, and all their figures appearing in the trial balance were incorporated into the new system developed by the client. Role of MBP: In the entire process, the role played by MBP is summarized below:- Pre-Implementation Part Taken training for operating the new system. Participated in the discussion with the client and the developer of the system in order to develop the accounting fields for facilitating the global consolidation. Participated in the mapping process of the accounting codes followed by each of the subsidiaries with the global accounting codes developed. Participated in the data migration part. Associated with the dummy run, identifying the mismatches and providing solution for the same. Post Implementation Part Final incorporation of figures into the system. Verifying reports/results with the parallel system maintained by the subsidiary. Training to the subsidiaries in order to operate the new system. Handholding support to carry out the month end reports initially for few months. Onshore support from the subsidiaries to carry out the process seamlessly.
