Over 90% of my clients (many from the US and Europe) have faced challenges with translators or agencies that didn’t grasp the cultural nuances critical to succeeding in Asia. I know you’re wondering—okay, so how are you different from them? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄: I’ve been in the translation game for over 9 years, including 8 years living in Japan, where I immersed myself in the language and culture. Along the way, I’ve gotten burned by shaky linguists more times than I’d wish on anyone. That helped forge a bulletproof 'vetting process' to filter out only the most qualified, trustworthy translators and subtitlers in Asia. Unlike most other ‘𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱' expert linguists, we have saved 100's of hours (lost in proofreading and correcting) and 1000's of dollars (wasted rehiring someone to fix the mess) for over 320 clients on Upwork. Our team of 200+ native linguists with specialized expertise in Asian markets like Japan, Korea, China, and more, goes beyond translation to localize your content, ensuring your story feels authentic and impactful to your Asian audience. You might be thinking, 'Words are cheap—where’s the proof?' My name is Maya Potrykus, I am 19 years old and from Germany. I am currently living in Tokyo, Japan for one year through a Working Holiday Visa. In Germany I finished high school and came to Japan afterwards to explore the culture, the language and myself in a new country. Working in Japan and getting to know Japan's daily life is my goal. First, I would like to earn money here, get to know the work life and later travel around Japan with the earned money. That is why I started to work in a factory lately, but now I would love to get more jobs to have more opportunities for my travels later. In Germany, while being in school I did an internship for one month in an office. The languages I learned in school are English and Spanish, I can communicate in both but have better skills in English than Spanish. In my free time I danced, tried various sports and liked to do creative work. My skills are positivity, patience, teamwork and precision. I also like to travel to many countries to learn about cultural differences, the language and their people. However, Japan was most interesting for me, which is why I am living here now. After my year abroad, I want to go to a university in Germany and later when my studies are finished, I would love to try out other Working Holiday Visas in different countries and combine work life with exploring the country's culture.German

This is a freelance translation and interpretation service. The currently available languages are Japanese, English and German. My native language is German, I was born in 1985 in GDR. I hold an M.A. as specialist translator for English as well as in Japanese studies. I am not a sworn translator though. Please ask the public office receiving the translation, if a sworn translator (concerning Apostille etc.) must do the translation, or a translator holding a degree in translation is fine, too. You will receive the PDF of my M.A. certificate to hand it in along with the translation. In many cases, this will be enough. So far, I mainly translated personal documents for visa applications, degrees, invoices and estimates in the medical field as well as content related to the Japanese national sport Sumo and other tourism-related matters. (I translate content of the Japanese Sumo Association’s website since 2015.) Since 2012, I have helped newcomers to Japan setting up their lives here, accompany foreigners to hospitals and interpret during business meetings as well as conferences. I am very good at translating and adjusting lyrics of songs, since I write music too. My specialty is making the translation look very similar to the original by using graphic programs and proper formatting with an eye for details. I manage three websites and multiple social media accounts as well as large groups and have over ten years of experience in brand building as well as content creation.German
