As a graduate student and research assistant, I have balanced a rigorous course load and a number of extracurricular activities that have allowed me to enhance my skills. In the past few years, I have worked as a research assistant (RA) with the researcher affiliated to the Paris School of Economics, University of Michigan, Oxford University, Australia National University, and University of Alberta. Working as an RA with professor Brendan Nyhan (ex-professor at Gerald R Ford School of Public Policy), I managed an RCT with two rounds of field survey and a total of 3,500 households of 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh, India. The project was to understand the impact of media literacy. I was the link connecting the field survey and the principle investigator sitting in the US. I successfully managed day to day interaction with a survey company and enumerators, training of the enumerators, translation of the survey, troubleshooting, and editing of the survey based on pilot survey feedback. I sent detailed daily reports of surveys completed by each surveyor in each village. Working as research assistant with University of Oxford , I managed another field survey of two thousand households. As an RA with professor Oliver Vanden Eynde of PSE, I analyzed the impact of tax reform on the Maoist activities and illegal mining utilizing newspaper data. I looked in the proximity of different Iron ore mines using the QGIS in different states of India. Through my work experience as business analyst in ZS Associates, an analytic consulting firm, I have developed abilities in designing survey, and fragmenting the market based on that in different segments which are raked based on the product adoption and potential profitability. My curiosity, self-learning capabilities helped me to learn many tools like R, STATA, QGIS, Excel (Advance), SurveyCTO, Latex, and SQL to deal with data and perform econometric analysis. Different assignments and projects have honed my programming skills to a good extent in the last four years. Apart from my experience, I have taken many rigorous courses of economics and econometrics, by which I have developed a qualified understating of linear regression models, treatment effect models, limited dependent variable models, RTCs, and Time-series models.Google Docs
