!!! Sorry I had to write this because a scammer left a big mark on my 100% success rated profile on this platform. This is absurd beyond insane. And Upwork does nothing about it! !!!
If you are seeing this bad review on my profile page here's what happened: I got scammed by that guy and Upwork doesn't do anything about him and they even allow him to give me a bad review :) What a joke :) Don't believe what you read on that scammer's review.
Ok full story: I offered him what I will be doing for his app, and how long it'll take. I told him the cost, he wanted a discount. Which I gave but asked from him a down payment. (he didn't want to work hourly which I usually work, he wanted fixed price) After I got the down payment I talked to him 2 times on Zoom which is recorded here on Upwork as well. And we didn't communicate outside of Upwork although he tried to lure me to his Slack to grab extra things out of our deal. And by the way I completed the 2 weeks of work in 10 days and sent it to him (which was my biggest mistake without getting the payment) and the reason I did that was basically trust. Oh by the way during these "honeymoon" period he is always thankful, he is always trying to introduce his other team members to me so I can teach them everything etc. And he always acknowledges my value to the project. That is until I request the payment after I sent him my initial report. He even told me the report is good at first and right after I request my money he started acting confused like this wasnt the deal. This humiliating interaction went on like this for hours, me explaining the contract to him and him acting confused. I show him our first messages etc and he still acts like I am trying to get out of the work. Anyways, he then suddenly changed his mind and then started to question the quality of my work on the report etc like he didn't thank me multiple times prior to that moment. He started acting like I didn't provide anything to him, he even had the nerve to request a refund which was hilarious. Then I realized I am dealing with a scammer. Well I did realize it earlier but that was the moment I started calling him that, who he is: A scammer. And I report this with all the conversations to Upwork, and they did nothing. And they even allowed him to leave me a bad review while I didn't even write anything against him out in the public. But this is stopping now:
Do not work with this guy, he is a scammer. His company is AYA Apps LTD, I am not sharing his name because I don't know the laws about it but company is a public name so it should be OK. What this scammer did to me is not ok, Upwork allowing this is also a huge red flag. Sorry I had to write this because this scammer left a big mark on my legit 100% success rated profile on this platform. This is absurd beyond insane.

Before that, I've worked as an editor at two of the best tech news startups in Turkey for total of 5 years (tamindir.com and webtekno.com), worked as a screenplay writer in one of local tv show, was journalist at one of the best marketing magazines in Turkey (Marketing Turkiye), did some copywriting for ad agencies, managed social media accounts of one the biggest home textile companies in Turkey (Jua Design) and worked as a digital marketing specialist. Also started working on my book and tv show project (so far couldn't make it in the entertainment industry but still working on my book!).
For the last couple of months, I've been working on my comeback as an App Store Optimization Expert. To do that, I've started working on my friends' mobile apps for free just to see if I still got it. And it turns out, yes, I still got it.
