Not all editors are alike! Right? Since working at Manuscripts LLC, I have helped produce 7 award-winning books last year: Syreeta Bond’s Unleash Your Inner Bad Bitch, Lucy Chen’s Build Resilience, Wes Love’s Culture Catalyst, Marnie Maton’s Vote for You, Cheryl Mason’s Dare to Relate, Loren Rosario-Maldonado’s Becoming the Change, and Naomi Vladeck’s Braving Creativity. You can find my recommendations from many of my writers on LinkedIn. But I am not just your average developmental or content editor: I am a book author who has published in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals and on Medium. Not every editor is aware of the full extent of work involved in writing an article for a peer-reviewed journal, drafting a book proposal that receives at least four separate internal peer reviews—let alone composing the actual book manuscript. Nor are many editors personally familiar with the process that follows after the acceptance of the manuscript by the editor. I am also a popular writer who has been boosted 28 times at Medium: less than .07% (yes, you read correctly) get boosted there. As a published book author and editor who’s been on both sides of the fence, I am especially well equipped to help if you’re looking to complete your dissertation, publish an article for a peer-reviewed journal, write your book proposal or your nonfiction book. I can also help with your science-fiction, horror, or gothic romance novel. I know what it’s like to struggle under deadlines—for instance, when your book editor or dissertation advisor wants you to send an introductory chapter pronto! I know what it’s like to get great—and sometimes not-so-great—reports from peer reviewers. What do you do to finish the revision of your final draft in a short amount of time? (I know there were many times I wished I had an editor!) As such, I’d like to help ease the path for you so that YOU don’t spend untold time revising fruitlessly. I can help you organize and structure your manuscript, regardless of length. I can also help you craft a compelling argument and fix your prose. Since time has never been more valuable when we are busier than ever, my guidance will shorten the time you need to complete your article, chapter, dissertation, or book and bring you closer to publication! My skills include: Over 20 years of undergraduate teaching experience, including online and onsite, with excellent course evaluations and faculty observation reports 20 years of writing for peer-reviewed journals 10 years of performing peer reviews for journals in literature, history, and political thought (which means evaluating academic essays written by university faculty) 7 years of book writing 5 years of doctoral dissertation editing (not including my own!) 2 years of content editing where I helped over 20 book authors write books in the following categories: diversity, education, health (cardiology and nutrition), immigration, leadership, sales, self-help. (See above for the award-winning titles.j Here’s a bit about me: I’m a native English speaker and writer who learned French and German in secondary school and college. I was also raised by multilingual parents—and as such, I understand the different challenges faced by native and non-native writers of English alike! I have a Ph.D. in English literature from Oxford University (yes, THAT one). Despite my specialization in English, I have a solid grounding in the humanities, arts, and social sciences including other literatures, history, art, and music. I believe in good and timely communication so I’ll always answer your emails in less than 24 hrs. I’m also a reasonably fast worker who can adapt to your needs.Grammar
