Hello! I’m an early-rising, coffee-drinking, book-loving, freelance editor who is passionate about Children’s Literature. I aim to encourage, inspire, and lend a helping hand along your journey as an author. My Experience... With over a decade of editing experience, I decided to utilize my degree in education and editing courses from the University of Michigan to focus on editing children’s books. Fast-forward two years, and I have authors so happy with my work that they’ve included me in the credits of their books. In addition to my experience and education, I know kid’s books. So well, in fact, I have quite a few favs I can read to my little guys without looking at the words (but don’t tell them). I’m well acquainted with classic authors like Bill Peet, Lois Lensky, and Maurice Sendak. I know authors who have been around for a while, like Laura Numeroff, Stan and Jan Berenstain, and Patricia Polacco. And I keep up with newer authors like Jez Alborough, James Dean, and Karma Wilson. I even have a vintage children’s book collection (something my husband fails to fully appreciate, lol). Let’s Work Together... I know what makes a good book, and, more importantly, I know how to make one just a little better. I can help you add that unique flair, catch that wee little thing the kids won’t like, or shine up a line that will bring an extra-big laugh. All you need to know about me before we work together is that I’m a Christian, and I try to ensure the projects I take on reflect my beliefs. I’m flexible, easy to work with, and honest. Never a need to be nervous or fearful about handing over your manuscript. I’d like us to be a team and make your book the best it can be. My goal is to be helpful by finding mistakes, offering suggestions, and providing constructive, encouraging feedback. Editing Service Details • 1st Edits: These edits are the most extensive and include tracked changes, suggestions, and separate detailed, written feedback. They focus on developmental editing and line editing. They are the most expensive. • 2nd Edits: These are available to my reocurring clients. They are usually smaller versions of the first edits and include feedback on new changes made, a heavier focus on line editing, and light proofreading. • Proofreads: I proofread during all of my edits, but this proofread is a fine-toothed comb approach to catch those pesky last-minute errors and typos. During this proofreading I work through the manuscript word-by-word three times. Then, I conduct an audio read, which is very helpful in catching tiny errors that one’s eyes often overlook. These final checks on the manuscripts are usually conducted after you have set your text with illustrations or right before printing. A Final Note Before You Go Let me end with the final, most important note: YOUR SATISFICATION. It is essential to me that you are 100% happy with my editing. If you are ever dissatisfied with your edits (even a bit), I’ll make it right—PROMISE!GrammarWriting CritiqueBook ReviewGoogle DocsBeta ReadingProofreadingMicrosoft WordChildren's WritingDevelopmental EditingLine EditingCopy EditingCreative Writing - $40 hourly

As a content writer, I have created web pages, blogs, and more for various industries, often completing 100+ articles a month. I am detail-oriented with excellent time management skills. I also love research, which is an added bonus. When ghostwriting for fiction, I enjoy creating worlds and characters with which readers fall in love. I have experience in multiple genres but prefer working on Cozy Mysteries or Paranormal plots. I thrive on collaboration with my clients and can write my own plots or follow one of yours! For me, teamwork and communication are essential. I can't wait to create something magical with you! Previously, I worked for a foster care agency where I marketed, recruited, and trained foster parents. I helped develop two state curriculums and ongoing training presentations for statewide training. This position provided me with networking experiences and customer service opportunities. With 5+ years of experience as an editor, I have the competence and enthusiasm you're looking for! I have extensive experience in developmental editing, copy editing, line editing, copywriting, and proofreading fiction, non-fiction, and children's books. I also have a vast background in social media marketing, technical writing, and content writing for Fortune 500 companies. **I offer a $25 first-chapter edit to explore whether we make a good team.:)** I know you have some fantastic twisty-turny plotlines that deserve to be absorbed and digested by as many people as possible, so let me help you polish and perfect it. My passion lies in taking your writing and partnering with you to find its greatest potential. As a writer myself, I know that the editing process can sometimes be difficult to take in. Together, we will preserve your unique voice and tone...and give your writing a little flare and pizzazz if needed! I'm a stay-at-home mom who loves to freelance in my spare time. Everyone has a story, so everyone needs an editor. My most meaningful work is in the shaping of words, finessing every project into its most fully realized form. I'm a writer's editor, having worked for newspapers and magazines for more than 18 years. You will almost always find me with a book or pen in my hand, if I'm not at my desk editing a manuscript or assignment. A bachelor's in English and master's in writing form the bedrock of my lifelong study of literature in all its forms. If you need an editor or proofreader, odds are I am more than qualified (and very eager to get started). I pride myself on keeping a diverse pool of clients, with projects that range from financial materials for American Advisors Group to line edits for authors like Christopher Murphy (The Other Side of the Mirror, Where the Boys Are). Name it, and I've edited it: commercial pieces, flash fiction, website ads, product packaging, email campaigns, slideshows, poems, recipes, blogs, business newsletters, short stories, children's books, travel guides, exposés, memoirs, screenplays, novellas, and so much more in just about every industry and genre. Empathy is an underestimated force of nature that informs my own writing, along with my all-in process as an editor and proofreader. My first priority is learning from my clients what kind of editor they need and how I can be the most successful fit for the work ahead. Is there a resume in need of structure? A novel in need of a thorough and careful eye? Perhaps the company needs an editor to freshen up the website. Whatever the project, I will gladly make room for it in my calendar. It is always a thrill and honor to showcase my skills.GrammarTrack ChangesNovelScreenplayLine EditingCopy EditingDevelopmental EditingBook EditingUS English DialectContent EditingEditing & ProofreadingStory EditingCreative StrategyEnglishProofreading - $40 hourly

Let's face it. Hiring a freelance copywriter to write your copy for you is a tough process. And in all honesty it kind of sucks. There's a lot of people out there to choose from. Some people charge too much, while others charge too little. You get confused from all the choices. And you're left wondering if you should spend less to save money, or spend more for quality. Where you spend your money is important, right? You want to make sure that it's spent on the right talent. But you also want to be making a wise investment. So what do you do? The obvious answer is to hire me. But why? First things first. You need a voice for your business. A unique voice. A style of writing that will have your reader's asking themselves "Wait, how long have I been reading this for?". You need that voice that's going to sell to your prospects without them even knowing what's going on. You need copy that can mesmerize your readers. But at the same time you're going to need value for your money. And that's where I come in. With me, you don't have to worry about breaking the bank to get stellar copy. If you're not convinced, check out the link to my website and portfolio here on my profile.
