Having worked for PowerNet Computers as the National Customer Service Manager for many years and then starting my own company, building it from the ground up over 25 years, I fully appreciate the value of not only good but great customer service. It can be one of the few things that separates an average company from a really great company. Having a dedicated team of employees makes all the difference to productivity. One principle I truly believe in is that you should always try to give the customer more than they expect, that way not only do you have a customer that will continue to support you but he will promote your company via word of mouth for you. An advert that money just cannot buy. My diverse range of skills include quick thinking, problem solving, time management, the ability to be patient and understanding with difficult people. I have expertise with all aspects of computers, laptops, smartphones etc. from the operating systems Windows, Linux, Android to Microsoft Office suite, OpenOffice, NetSuite, Shopify, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Meeting, internet research and HTML.Grammar

During my 30-year run as a writer and editor, I tried a bit of everything before finally finding my home in the glorious madness of narrative design. I've paid the bills as a comedy writer (stand-up, sketch, radio) and newspaper editor. I wrote a comic-book series endorsed by Clive Barker and edited many many others, including a whole lot of books for Scout Comics. I wrote/directed the horror movie THE WRONG HOUSE and played monsters in several other films. For the video game EPIC TAVERN, I created hundreds of quests, more than 150 playable characters with unique backstories, and did extensive worldbuilding. For MURDER ON THE MIDWAY (which I also coded), I designed dialogue trees and created a fully-functioning traveling carnival loaded with dozens of memorable characters. I recently cowrote the 10-episode audio series UNDERTOW: BLOOD FOREST and wrote the standalone audio ghost story RETURN TO BLACKOUT POINT, both of which were produced and distributed by Realm. I thrive on complexity, I have a quiet, dedicated home office deep in the Maine wilderness and impeccable references as a remote writer and editor. It is my firm belief that having worked in damn-near every storytelling medium known to humankind has prepared me to handle anything a project throws at me.Grammar

I am based in Maine and have over 15 years of experience as a nonfiction writer and editor. I enjoy editing books, e-books, technical manuals, case studies, white papers, e-learning content, and more. I have a knack for bringing clarity to complex topics. What is it like to work with me? Well, here's what one of my clients said: "Very positive experience working with Jill from start to finish. I appreciated her flexibility and broad range of skills and editorial input. I also appreciated that she suggested we chat on the phone before getting started. In addition to line editing, she made several very helpful content suggestions. It's wonderful to work with someone so intelligent and capable. Plus she's as kind as she is professional." I spent 4 years working as an editor at a national magazine. I have also published two books and hold a degree in Journalism from Boston University. I have a strong knowledge of alternative health, environmental "green" topics, home improvement, gardening, electronic gadgets, Mac and iOS operating systems, parenting, horseback riding, soccer, photography, travel, and real estate. I live on an island in Maine, near Acadia National Park, with my husband and teenage son. When I'm not at my desk, I love hiking, kayaking, photography (you can find my photos on Instagram), reading, exploring new places, and watching science fiction TV shows.Grammar

Hi there! I'm a translator/subtitler with specialization in medicine and education. I am a native English speaker and I speak Spanish fluently. I have been proofreading most of my life and never realized you could actually do it for a living. Through much of my working career as a receptionist in various companies, I have been responsible for transcribing and proofreading hundreds of documents. I have worked for heads of state departments as well as a governor elect. My unpaid proofreading jobs consist of working for my husband to proofread his legal documents, warrants and arrest reports. My latest gig is actually working as a veterinary technician. I have worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years now and am very familiar with the vernacular and appropriate spelling of procedures and drug names. Let me know what I can proofread for you! Proofreading: fiction, reports, essays and veterinary content but I would also excel at blogs, non-fiction and more. I would like to stay in contact with you when-ever possible so that I can be sure your project is done on time and how you want it.Grammar
