My responsibilities as Editorial Art Director included full preparation of the InDesign document for each week. This included updating dates, volume numbers, importing all articles from the original Word documents and formatting and styling them to the newspaper's design specs. Classified ads and individual legal notices also were inserted and formatted. I also processed all images provided for inclusion, including changing them to tif and converting to CMYK or Grayscale, adjusting colors and levels to make them suitable for printing on newsprint. I was also responsible for creating any charts needed in the paper. I inserted finished ads files, as well as creating some ad designs and fillers and doing line corrections when needed. Working with the Managing Editor, we would do final proofing and I would make any corrections and adjustments needed before I created the final PDF, run a pre-flight check on the document and make any additional corrections prior to sending the document to the print house. Additionally, I was responsible to convert the final PDF to the specifications of the online server for the web version of the paper.Grammar
