Professional author with over a decade of freelancing experience. I provide my clients top-notch content on time, every time. I am a former nurse (ADN, RN) and have a knack for presenting complex medical issues in plain English for the layman. From 2011-2016, I wrote a well-received daily column: "This Day in History" on a popular educational website. Since 2019, I've ghostwritten articles published in Money Inc. on sustainable business practices. Several of my history articles and blog posts have gone viral, and top Google searches. I enjoy working with new clients and building long-term professional relationships. My communication skills are excellent, be it one-on-one or a group situation. I'm not afraid to seek clarification if I'm unsure about an assignment. Producing high quality content isn't just a job to me. I love to write and my work reflects that.History

Following a full scholarship to Harvard University (M.Ed), I worked at Boston University as the Research Manager for the Lab of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience - a role which allowed me to both demonstrate, and hone, my extensive research skills and my ability to identify and resolve methodological problems. I have been on a career break to raise my two boys, who are now of school age. During this time, I became interested in genealogy and tracing my own family tree. I extended my genealogical research further to include DNA and chromosome mapping. Through chromosome mapping I was able to identify (and verify with vital records) three previously unknown (and living!) half-siblings of my mother! I also identified the unknown blood-line of my great maternal grandfather, leading to over 40 (and counting) DNA confirmed 1st -6th cousin matches. Following these successes, I began searching for outside projects, most recently locating a previously unknown half sister of an adopted individual who was unaware he had any siblings and the previously unknown paternal line of an 82 year old 'war baby.' I have obtained hundreds of birth, marriage and death certificates, census records and probate records. I have methodically scanned countless electoral registers/poll books for the time consuming task of verifying spouses and addresses and I have spent hours proving (or disproving) the family tree branches of other people. I have successfully located adoption certificates and traced the service numbers of those in the military, securing many service records, naval records and ship records. I have tracked the immigration/emigration of many individuals and communicated with people all over the world, facilitating many new acquaintances in their search to locate their blood relatives. Tracing your lineage is time consuming - if you want to know your family origins and don't have time, I would love to put a tree together for you. Or maybe you are stuck at a brick wall? I would love the opportunity to see the information you have and facilitate you in moving forward (even more helpful if you have already taken a DNA test so that I can cross-reference matches to develop your line). I am a current member of The National Genealogical Society and plan to achieve my Certificate in Geneology by next year. I don't want to waste your time or mine - I do this because I enjoy it (a little obsessively actually), I'm really good at it and I want to help others on their genealogical journey. There are so many fascinating stories out there! Tell me your research question(s) - I will only take the job if I have strong confidence that I could achieve results.History

New Englander with deep insights into secondary education and 21st-century pedagogy through more than a decade of classroom teaching and e-learning development. My teaching experience involved both a very successful urban high school in the U.S. and an international school in Southeast Asia. In addition to teaching history, including AP experience with high exam pass rates, I have piloted Edtech initiatives for a large school district, designed digital instructional material, led professional development, and worked with education companies both large and small. My university and graduate education involved substantial research and writing projects. From academic writing, articles, blogs, and other content to editing any material, I am a skillful and flexible writer. I immerse myself in topics, conducting the research necessary to write adeptly and with capability no matter the subject. In addition to using these skills professionally, I have volunteered time for English-language writing, editing, and teaching during visits abroad. I have an extensive background utilizing Learning Management Systems as an educator and have authored many courses on Canvas LMS by Instructure. I have designed and implemented programs for classroom use as well as remote, asynchronous, and hybrid combinations even before Covid-19. My practical background is an asset I bring to curriculum design and implementation. My experience on Upwork has encompassed traditional education and Edtech consulting and content writing, including projects on educator licensure test preparation, assessment design, and online Social Studies lessons. I have also worked on a project sourcing media clips for educational use, linking the clips to relevant curriculum standards, and crafting discussion questions tailored to each for use in the classroom. My clients have been happy to involve me in longer-term projects, and I pride myself on delivering results. You can hear me speak about my experiences as an educator in the interviews at the bottom of the page. I look forward to hearing from you!History

Now, I turn my experiences to the freelancing world to help businesses, students, and other clientele in need of effective copywriting for upcoming projects! Should you inquire about my services, I ask the following: 1. Your project’s field (ex. Business, school project, freelance, personal…) 2. Desired output (ex.
