Cover Letter Jonathan Bryce Berwald Garden Grove, CA 92844 bryce@berwald.ion +1 714-296-0905 Today's Date: 04/03/2024 I want to express my interest in future employment opportunities and passionate about being a developer getting to be creative with a strive for improvement. I started coding in High School as a means to try and create a MMORPG. My brother and I bonded over a multiplayer game in our childhood and the developers and/or staff members were always well respected and everyone wanted to talk to them. This sparked my desire in trying to create a multiplayer game to be one of those "cool" guys in the game instead of just a regular player. I started to take basic programming courses in High School like Visual Basic and Java but the concepts were pretty difficult at that time but it soon became fluent as my developing skills continued to improve. I'm originally from the Midwest, Kansas City specifically and moved to California roughly seven years ago. My girlfriend at the time was finishing her education, getting her masters degree in Bioengineering which had me thinking about science like things again. I was working construction at the time so I decided I wanted to go back to school and get a degree in architecture but tried learning Python on the side as a hobby my first semester back in college and switched my major to Software Engineering. My brother is also a software engineer as he also got the spark during our childhood. I don't think I'll ever get tired of developing different things tech related as it doesn't feel like work to me. I work full time doing construction, finishing college, and coding in every last minute of free time I have. I really want to create a portfolio to showcase as I don't have a bachelor's degree and I'm a semester away from my having my associate degree in Software Engineering but have way surpassed my classmates in a lot of areas due to my motivation and drive to be a programmer. I have created a few games, full stack websites, I'm knowledgeable in integrating APIs and utilizing frameworks and libraries. I know quite a few programming language as my first and most ingrained language learned was C++. I then started learning Java, some more Python, R Scripting since my girlfriend had to write data cleaning scripts but wasn't able to grasp it that easily so I picked the language up to help her complete her workload. I self taught myself web development. I started with vanilla JavaScript then moved to NodeJS allowing a faster and more compelling way to write code as it's a breath of fresh air. I fell in love with React framework and love how I can create reusable components, breaking things down with simplicity. I also have learned Angular and know how to create a backend with whatever endpoints are necessary for the job. I would be honored for an opportunity to prove my worth and have a past experience to showcase to future employers. I don't mind working for a lesser pay as I want to have a couple jobs completed to boost my freelance developer status. I am confident that my skills and experience would make me a valuable asset to your team, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the success of your organization. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity and discussing future plans. I am available for an interview at your convenience and can be reached at... +1 714 296-0905 or bryce@berwald.io. Thank you for your time and consideration! Sincerely, Jonathan "Bryce" Berwald
