I am a seasoned industrial designer with half a decade of hands-on experience and a knack for turning concepts into real-world solutions. My background spans consumer electronics, water sports products, and even pioneering work on autonomous trucks approved for U.S. roads. I excel at taking an idea and guiding it through design, prototyping, rigorous testing, and meticulous manufacturing planning. With my well-equipped in-house workshop, including CNC and 3D printing capabilities, I quickly translate ideas into tangible prototypes. My versatility extends beyond traditional industrial design. In my spare time, I've built three tiny homes from scratch as a hobby, demonstrating my passion for crafting functional and aesthetic living spaces. Additionally, I have a deep love for vehicle restoration, where I've channeled my expertise into reviving classic automobiles. My work is characterized by designs that not only look stunning but are also structurally sound and optimized for seamless assembly. I've led major projects, securing million-dollar contracts and setting rigorous documentation standards. My proficiency in developing comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and optimizing inventory management ensures precision and efficiency in project execution. If your company is searching for a dynamic industrial designer with a unique skill set and a passion for turning ideas into reality, I am here to contribute my expertise. An all-in-one industrial designer, mechanical engineer, supply chain expert & product manager that gets product on-the-shelf ready to sell in a hurry! My holistic knowledge of commercialization (customer needs, design, engineering, compliance, manufacturing, shipping and tariffs) allows for on-the-spot planning and the removal of scope with low customer value but high effort, lead-time of cost. Existing connections to machining, casting, forming, bending, injection molding, PCB/PCBA electric circuit board and electric motor suppliers allows the immediate use of suppliers vetted for quality and low cost (that won't run away with your money!). I apply DFM (design for manufacturing) throughout the entire development process, rather than redesigning your product after you finally think you're done. I have the in-house ability to CNC machine (aluminum, steel, stainless, plastic, wood), 3D print, assemble and build wiring harnesses, with relationships with small batch machine shops, casting houses, injection molders and PCB/PCBA suppliers - we can cut significant lead-time from project requiring multiple iterations or testing. I've am listed as inventor on multiple patents, have 17 years of experience in design and product/project management, have developed mechanical and electrical consumer and automotive products, and am registered as a professional mechanical engineer. I work with everyone from boot strapped start-ups, SMEs to monsters such as Volvo - if you need a product in a hurry, need support navigating your team around obstacles, or need supply chain that's "impossible" to find, reach out for some support! (I'm in fluent in SolidWorks, OnShape, DFMEA/PFMEA, ISO 9001, TS 16949, DFM, FEA, metallurgical wear, stress analysis, GD&T, 2D drawings, APQP, iterative design, Waterfall/Agile, PMP, stainless steel, aluminum, plastic, rubber, PCBA/PCB, VP of Product / CPO).Industrial DesignProduct DesignSolidWorksOnshapeProblem SolvingProduct Development ProcessManufacturingCommercializationMechanical EngineeringMechanical DesignProject ManagementProduct ManagementSupply Chain & LogisticsDesign for ManufacturingProduct Development Want to browse more freelancers?
