I work with Upwork clients who want elegant, professional PowerPoint presentations designed to captivate viewers while clearly delivering impactful content. "COMMUNICATE! DON'T DECORATE!" is the first rule of graphic design, and it guides every decision I make. I use a minimalist approach and let the content of the slide determine its layout. That is, the main idea is presented as the dominant visual. Any and all other slide elements are smaller or muted, and obviously supportive. This clear hierarchy guides the eye naturally and is easily understood leading to a higher rate of engagement and retention by your viewers. GRAPHICS & ILLUSTRATION: Data Visualization in the form of infographics, charts, illustrations, and relevant hi-res photos, these are the mainstays of Graphic Design and are used to support the main concept of each slide. They're also crucial in enhancing the slide's impact and maintaining your viewer's attention. BRANDING: Branding, as it pertains to presentation decks and templates, is always in focus because it's your corporate identity. So, whether it's an outward-facing deck, or an in-house presentation, it will always mirror your company website and/or, at the very least, reflect your logo. COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN PPT and GSLIDES: I stay mindful of the few, but critical, compatibility issues between PowerPoint and Google Slides. The two programs are highly compatible, which is great! But they're not 100%, especially as regards colors, fonts, and a few other technical assets. Therefore, I make any adjustments necessary to ensure that your slides will show exactly the same no matter which program you use. TEMPLATES: I also design and construct new custom installable master templates. That means that in place of the blank generic MOS title slide that pops up when you launch PPT or open a new doc, your own branded, pre-formatted slides come up instead. This should simplify your future in-house slide work and produce consistent presentations. ANIMATION and TRANSITIONS: Simple animation (like fly-ins or fade-ins, for example) is a no-brainer, while complex animation (applying two or more to the same object and running them simultaneously or in tandem) can really add some spectacular and unexpected effects to your presentations! But the real star in this category is PowerPoint's MORPH TRANSITION, which can raise your deck to a level of dynamism that has hitherto only been possible with sophisticated video software. Working together we can find ways to use either or both of these features tastefully wherever appropriate throughout your deck which will make your message virtually sing. It'll come alive with lasting impact garnering some real results! COPYWRITING: One final thought for those who need a slide deck but have no written content for it, and for those who want to turn Word docs, pdfs, etc., into riveting slides ... I'm not only an experienced graphic designer with over 13 years on Upwork but a get-to-the-point copywriter, as well. My creative writing background has been mostly self-guided and is therefore not fully reflected on my current resume.
