I am an Italian native speaker, Japanese/English/Italian translator and interpreter active in Tokyo - Japan since 2010. After earning my PhD in Japanese Language and Culture in Ca' Foscari University (Venice) in 2008, I moved to Japan to improve my knowledge of the Japanese language and further my career. In Japan I have worked as proof checker (electronics, video games, etc), English conversation teacher, Italian language teacher and freelance translator/interpreter to/from Italian, English and Japanese. My major experience in a Japanese company was in a travel agency (as the only non-Japanese employee) for 4 years. There I could gain significant experience in producing/translating business correspondence, tour itineraries/pamphlets, translating legal contracts, MoUs, company profiles, newspaper articles, product catalogs etc. As an employed/freelance translator and interpreter, I continue cultivating day by day my expertise in various fields of translation, though I believe my strongest point is to be my knowledge of Japanese people, society and culture. I strive to deliver translations not of words and phrases, but of the true meanings within them.
