Develop complete ‘testing systems’ consisting of LabVIEW applications paired with custom MCU-based circuitry to automate the electrical, thermal, and optical testing of all luminaires. Notable projects include: >End of Line Tester I: Developed a custom PCB capable of diagnosing any incorrect wiring operation performed during the assembly process. Resulted in a 95% reduction in measurement hardware costs compared to the proposed off-the-shelf solution. PCB with LabVIEW executable deployed to all 53 production lines assembling light fixtures. >End of Line Tester II: Designed a custom circuit capable of diagnosing assembly wiring, safely switching on the luminaire via a 120-300VAC external AC Source, and measuring AC Power at various programmed lumen levels. Includes hardware for 0-10V, DALI, and Phase Dimming Protocols, and works for single or two-circuit configurations. All features tested on benchtop, design sent to PCB Manufacturer for final device creation. 90% cost reduction compared to off-the-shelf solution. >Thermal Interface Tester: 80x64 Infrared Array tied to LabVIEW executable used to validate proper assembly of all downlight products. >Automatic Driver Evaluator: LabVIEW executable tied to various seriallycapable meters and power output devices used to validate the electrical performance of any LED driver. >Electrothermal Data Acquisition (DAQ): LabVIEW executable tied to custom MCU-based dimming circuitry (0-10V, DALI, or Phase) used to monitor the electrical and thermal properties of a fully-assembled luminaire over time. Program will auto-shutdown after reaching temperature stabilization, and can be used in a 'Ramp-Up' mode to detect the maximum output current possible before crossing a temperature threshold. Used in a UL-certified onsite lab.
