I'm a mechanical engineer with nearly 20 years experience in product design and machine design. Highly skilled in Solidworks. I have designed hundreds of injection-molded plastic components and assemblies and numerous consumer products. Very knowledgeable of design for manufacture principles for volumes from 1 piece to 1,000,000. I also have 7 years experience designing machinery to support manufacturing and product testing, including fixtures, presses, material handling equipment, modifications and improvements to existing machinery and a cnc router custom designed and programmed for cutting ~ 70 unique parts from a custom C-channel extrusion. In this capacity I utilised my strong analytical capabilities and mechanical and electrical aptitude to accurately spec and integrate equipment into robust and functional machinery. I have been designing and using rapid prototype/3D printed parts since ~2007, including stereo lithography, FDM, SLS, and others. Very familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each and very experienced in making the most of these processes.

This happened over the course of a year and was part of my work as the Structures team lead for the Yellow Jacket Space Program at Georgia Tech. - CNC Composite Filament Winder: In this project I developed a 3-axis CNC filament winder to produce composite rocket body tubes, composite overwrapped pressure vessels, and composite aircraft stringers. The winder had a 0.3mx3.5m bed to accommodate very large work pieces. This was also part of my work for Yellow Jacket Space Program. - Aircraft Fuselage Bondline Gap Improvement: As an intern for General Atomics ASI, I worked to reduce an excessive bondline at the nose of Predator B aircraft composite fuselages and improve the fuselage manufacturing process in general. - Liquid Biprop Rocket Fin Design: As an intern for Aerojet Rocketdyne, I designed and manufactured carbon fiber fins for a 9ft liquid bipropellant sounding rocket.
