    Database Design and Programming: With a comprehensive set of skills in database design and programming that span a wide swath of industry sectors, I can design, manage and maintain relational databases that withstand the test of time. As an experienced data molder, I know how to design extensibility into the database, enabling it to gracefully accommodate changing and expanding business requirements. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Integrations: I use SSIS to automate whatever can be automated. My experience with SSIS ranges from typical involvement in BI data pipelines to highly automated development cycles, that is, drop the database, create empty database from DDL from data model tooling, load current iteration of database from “starter databases”, correcting any failures; with each iteration of the build, the database becomes more extensible and business rules more solidly enforced. One Shot Data Warehouses: For smaller projects, I can use SSIS to create a “One Shot” data warehouse for approximately 10% of the cost of a traditional data warehouse. For this type of system, the “initial historical” load happens with each refresh of the data. Granted, there is no tracking of history via “slowing changing dimensions”, and auditing and error handling are very minimal. However, the ability to make major extensions and revisions to the system is amazingly easy. I have created many such systems where a traditional data warehouse was not an option; the customer gets 70% of the bang for 10% of this cost. Non-Analytical Integrations: I have years of experience in creating integrations between a company’s internal databases and a wide variety of external systems purely for operational purposes. Often, this required me to extend a company’s IT infrastructure and almost always involved SSIS. Intractable Legacy Databases: With a combination of heavy transformations in SSIS and highly customized data models, I can create a normalized version of a severely de-normalized legacy database. This version of the database (still a transactional design, replete with referential integrity) can be used as a staging database for further BI or can be used for non-analytical operational reporting and other operational data stores. Often, the data refresh is so fast that users can refresh the data as needed. MS Access Development: I have expertise in most aspects of Access database design and programming.
