I’m Dominic (Dom) Chiotti, a mechanical and quality engineer with over 5 years of experience in the medical device industry. I have worked in a wide range of departments to give me perspective on the industry as a whole. I started out in global surveillance learning about root cause analysis’ of device malfunctions and becoming familiar with ISO, FDA, and cGMP requirements. I moved on to the quality engineering department learning that the establishment of a robust quality system leads to company success. I gained knowledge in process validation, development of risk assessments, qualification, FDA and BSI audits, and much more. Finally, in what I think I enjoy most, I have settled into a research and development (R&D) role. I have had the opportunity to support the development of the t:sport product, which has plans for a commercial release in the near future. I have had the chance to to apply my knowledge of arduino (C++), python, and solidworks for the development of parts, assemblies, and fixtures for this new product. My education includes a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Biology (Cum Laude) from San Diego State University (SDSU) and a Masters of Science (MS) in Biomedical Engineering from San Jose State University (SJSU). I challenged myself academically while in college appearing on the Dean’s List five different times obtaining a 3.6 and 3.76 Overall GPA respectively. I also looked to gain experience having a variety of internships while in school that included quality engineering intern, university teaching assistant, and pathmaker intern. Furthermore, I was a Silicon Valley Innovation and Entrepreneur Scholar at SJSU. This program allowed me to study the entrepreneur trade from an engineering perspective. I am obsessed with novel engineering and I am always trying to construct new tech, projects, and products You can usually find me composing something in CAD, 3D printing a new design, or researching the newest tech. In my spare time I am a huge sports fan, particularly the 49ers, Warriors, Giants, and SDSU Aztecs. I love to stay active playing basketball, golf, lifting weights, and running. I also love to travel the world, get out for a hike, and enjoy IPA’s. My experiences have allowed me to gain the following skills: • Prototyping • Design/Modeling of medical devices through SolidWorks. • Development of fixtures. • 3D printing. • Quality document development - work instructions, validations, protocols, etc. • Development of validation/verification testing. • Statistical Analysis I am currently a Senior Product Development Engineer at medical device company and would be happy build together! **Looking for remote opportunities only outside of regular working hours**
