Rafaelos Christofi was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He is a passionate, award winning acoustic and electroacoustic composer, film scorer and sound designer. He studied classical guitar at the Music School of Nicosia and Classical Composition at Codarts University of Arts, Rotterdam and Composition for Audiovisual Media at Katarina Gurska, Madrid. He collaborated and wrote music for various music groups and organisations, including the Dutch National Opera and Ballet and the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. He wrote music for short films, documentaries, opera, theatre, and many other interdisciplinary settings, including the chamber Opera “More than the sum of its parts” and the ballet “Tales of the Forest“; as well as music for solo instruments, chamber and orchestra like his latest piece ´´Desert night Sky´´, composed for the Giorkin Project. He won the first prize of the International Youth Music Competition in 2021, the first prize of the Cyprus National Commission UNESCO for a short documentary in 2021 and was nominated for ‘’Best original music’’ in the Premios IRTVE in 2024.

My name is George and I’m a composer, sound designer and producer from Nicosia, Cyprus. My musical journey began when I joined my first band in 2001 and have dedicated my life to the art of music ever since. After many live performances with different bands and musicians, I decided to explore music as a storytelling medium which sparked my interest in film-making, leading me to earn a degree in film in 2011. This newfound knowledge for film, along with my musical abilities and experience, placed me on the path of working as a composer for for games, films, animations, trailers and various multimedia art projects. I have been involved in large scale projects such as recording my music with the London Symphony Orchestra and working alongside Grammy award-winning producers. From the production side of things, as owner of Oneirism Studios, working on recordings, mixes and masters for different musicians and bands of various genres and backgrounds also gave me different perspectives as to how to approach each project. All these amazing experiences allowed me to grow musically and artistically while also providing me with a heightened sense of aesthetics to be able to create unique music and sounds. I feel honoured to have been involved with incredible artists, collaborators and companies throughout the years, and look forward to new and exciting projects.
