I was born in Cologne, Germany. At an early age, my parents frequently took me to the opera, musicals, theaters and the movies and I started to become very imaginative on my own. I began taking piano lessons and started composing my own music. From 2010-2014, I studied at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, The Netherlands and at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I received my Bachelor in Music Composition. During my studies, I joined the international Creative Ensemble as a percussionist and worked with i.a. renowned cellist and composer Ernst Reijseger and saxophonist Michael Moore. In 2005, I received the Skoda Soundtrack Award at the Soundtrack_Cologne 2.0 and since then have been involved in many different international projects including films, commercials, music videos and radio plays. In 2014 I wrote the music for the award-winning short film Alter Egon supported by the film commission NRW, contributed music for the Discovery Channel and orchestrated the song “I Wish I Could Be A Disney Princess” for Buzzfeed which has received over 25 million views on YouTube. I participated in the BMI Composing for Screen Mentorship Program in 2013 and the SCL Mentorship Program in NY in 2016. In 2020 I received a nomination for the Hollywood Music in Media Award in the category Contemporary Classical/Instrumental for my piece Journey Around The World and won the award in 2021 in the category Score – Short Film (Live Action) for my score for the short film Fellini Forward produced by Campari which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. I love being a storyteller and my goal as an artist is to allow the listener and audience to dive into new worlds and participate in a narrative that connects us as individuals. Being born in Germany, with Greek roots, and being immersed in various different cultures through his travels, I am very fond of intercultural and interdisciplinary collaborations where different art forms can come together and shape a piece. Having been a frequent moviegoer all my life, I love the challenge of supporting a plot and its characters by setting the musical tone and take the audience and listener to different places.
