The best part of editing and proofreading for me? I think it's fun! Proofreading and editing were adjunct to all of my jobs in the business world for thirty years. And now, over the past ten years, I've had the opportunity to freelance proofread and edit projects as varied as business books to cookbooks to crime novels to studies in other forms of consciousness. I've been working with a lot of first-time authors and find that very rewarding as well. As an author myself, I know the kind of dedication, creativity and doubts that we all have had to deal with in order to bring our works of art to fruition. But then there's the reticence to share it with a third-party professional, a whole new set of eyes, whom you hope and pray will assist you in framing and tweaking and polishing your art into something the whole world will appreciate. My goal is to do just that for you and still keep your voice, your magic, and your goals intact. I recently moved to Nashville to teach young singer/songwriters how to be entertainers. I've written two books on the subject. I have self-published both books utilizing Amazon's Kindle format and print-on-demand. I've just updated the 38th version of my current book; I am forever editing and updating it, making it better. I work out of my home in Nashville and I can be reached anytime between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Central Time, seven days a week, which allows me to adjust to the schedules of my clients in all US time zones. Reading, while spiffing up other people's writings as well as my own, are my passions. Fun fact: I was my elementary school's spelling bee champion two years running!Non-Fiction Writing

Freelance Writer | Script Writer | Creative Writing, Marketing Writing, Scientific Writing | Fiction (all genres) | Novels and Short Stories | Non-Fiction | Blogs, Journals, Biographies | Food, Travel, Hospitality, Tech, True-Crime, Comedy Professional Experience in: Contemporary Romance (various tropes but more specifically Historical Romance, Mafia, and Shapeshifter/Werewolf) Horror Fantasy Murder Mystery Mystery Comedy Thriller Children’s books (ages 4-7) Coming of Age Tales Script Writing (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram) Content Writing (Dating Profiles, LinkedIn, Resume-Writing, Blogs/Articles) Outline Writing (Plotting) SEO Marketing Content (I have 10+ Years of Sales and Marketing Experience in addition to being a writer) To define myself as anything more specific than a creative writer would be disrespectful to the very art of writing. I have dabbled in every genre as well as many styles. I am flexible in my works, because my mind is flexible with its thoughts. As human beings we do not merely think one way or hover upon one thought; we are the opposite of robotic drones - ever feeling, and ever evolving. We leap with joy, fall in despair, shiver with fear, and quake with desire. I believe my works should be the same. Never will I write without my emotion or soul being part of it; and never should human beings adhere to a monotonous unchanging role - whether it be in life or writing. I do freelance writing to allow myself the opportunity to always be changing; and always evolving. From horror to romance and science fiction; to children's stories to emotionally heart-wrenching poetry - I have dreamed it all, lived it all and written it all. You can rest assured that I will throw personality into every piece and that every piece is 100% human-written--by me, personally.Non-Fiction Writing

I work with both seasoned and first-time authors of memoir, biography, and other nonfiction books in the fields of spirituality, personal development, alternative healing, and other unconventional topics. As an editor and former university instructor, I have decades of experience working with writing at both the macro and micro levels, and adapting my communication style to the individual needs of each writer. I recently edited 15 nonfiction books, including 3 anthologies, for a UK-based publisher specializing in alternative spirituality topics. I will work my magic until your writing soars. DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING As a developmental editor, I work with you to take your current draft to the next level. I will read your manuscript thoroughly and thoughtfully, and provide a comprehensive assessment of the major strengths, the elements that need addressing, and actionable suggestions for revision. This includes feedback on structure and organization, balance of content development, style and readability, and any other areas of focus you request. I will provide a high-level developmental letter detailing this information, relevant comments in the draft itself, and example revisions where appropriate. I also provide video or voice consultations of up to 30 minutes. LINE EDITING I close-read your manuscript, working at the paragraph and sentence levels to address a variety of elements, including (but not limited to) paragraph organization, main idea development, clarity, sentence structure, style, and word choice. Note: While some degree of copy editing typically occurs during this phase, it is a separate step from line editing and ideally should be treated as such. PUBLISHING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE I am the chief writer for an online publishing startup based in the UK, which has released over 30 titles since 2015. In addition to the majority of the books themselves, I have written the sales descriptions, Amazon A+ content, promotional emails, and ad copy for each release, and have been involved in the process of cover design. We have published over 10 best-selling books on Amazon, with 8 titles acquired by Sterling Publishing, and 2 titles acquired by Hachette France. Our books have sold over 1 million copies since 2015, and have been translated into 5 languages. Our email list currently sits at over 100K subscribers. I also have experience with the traditional publishing industry, having worked with editors from Sterling Publishing on revisions to my books, so I have insights into the production process of your manuscript once it’s accepted. I can also shed light on the pros and cons of self-publishing vs traditional publishing, for authors considering both options. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS *Created 20+ original nonfiction books for UK-based online publishing startup specializing in alternative spirituality topics. I was promoted to business partner after 3 years of commissioned projects. *Over 20,000 ratings and reviews on Amazon, with an average of 4.6 stars and above. 10 titles were later acquired by Sterling Publishing, and 2 were acquired by Hachette France. *My books are translated into French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Chinese. *Over 1 million books sold in under 9 years. *Edited 10+ nonfiction books, including 3 anthologies, for UK-based online publishing startup specializing in alternative spirituality topics. *Researched, drafted and edited 300-page authorized biography of Broadway and film actor Pat Hingle from 500 pages of interview transcripts. *Writing consultant for global online higher education tutoring service. Earned commendations for high quality asynchronous tutorials. *Developed and implemented course curriculum for five university courses in English and Creative Writing.Non-Fiction Writing

I'm a hybrid writer! As a published fiction author, I write thrillers, paranormal romances, and sci-fi. But I also write highly technical web copy, case studies, functional specs, user manuals, and articles/blogs. Currently, I'm working on an AI/ML blog for scientific research. Recently I completed a biography and an outline for a 10 book serial killer series. One of my own serial killer thrillers is due out early 2023. I'd be happy to ghost-write your novel or help you complete it as I've done many times before. The important thing is for you to complete that first novel, all 80k words of it! I write memoirs, how-tos, thrillers, mysteries, adventures, and paranormal. I simply can't do fairies, goblins, and the like. Sci-Fi, yes indeed. But hold the dragons!Non-Fiction Writing

Writing has always been a natural strength of mine. It's allowed me to coast through classes from middle school all the way up to my Master's degree. It's one of those things that's come easily and always made sense to me. Since 2012 I have been a high school English teacher which has allowed me to sharpen my critiquing ability and create my own quality work. I've successfully completed two full-length novels, the latter of which I am currently querying with literary agents. I'm using Upwork as a means for extending my services to you, as well as helping myself continue to improve in my craft. See my portfolio for writing samples and let me know what I can do for you!Non-Fiction Writing

I'm a proofreader looking to work on small and medium sized projects. I did most of my work in college while working on my degree, but digging into a text is something that I have missed. I would love to help you polish your content and put the final touches on it. While my comfort zone is proofreading and copyediting, I am happy to talk to you more about line editing, fact checking, or whatever your project needs!Non-Fiction Writing

I have what it takes to write new pieces and edit or rewrite existing pieces into clean, quality work that you won't have any fear of publishing. I also have extensive experience working in operations management, helping to lead, guide, and support a wider team. My skills are reflected in my longstanding previous contract work on Grammarly Premium's now-discontinued Expert Writing Service (internally, "Proofit") and on their Ops team ("Clarity Specialist" contract) to help deliver quality services that aided clients around the world and annotations that improved their proprietary LLMs. In addition to the utmost confidentiality, that work required organizational and communication skills, familiarity with different styles and dialects, the flexibility to follow a writer's preferences, and the ability to maintain the tone and personal style of each piece. Due to the confidentiality of my work with Grammarly and several other clients, I have no portfolio items available from those contracts; however, my ratings speak for themselves. I have worked on items from short stories to novels, non-fiction articles to full-length books, personal communications to business proposals, and college papers to scholarly papers. I am well-versed in AP and CMOS and work in both American and British English. Operations management experience: driving and/or supporting team OKRs; brainstorming, collaborating, and communicating effectively with various teams; drafting guidelines for new editing/AI-training projects; onboarding writing experts to various projects and providing support and clarifying answers to them; drafting, reviewing, and sending various comms for/to the wider team; sending out surveys, analyzing the results, and making plans for improvement; and delivering quality work on time. No matter how large or small the job, I give all my clients' work the same great attention to detail. I look forward to working with you to ensure that your single text or entire website is polished and coherent—or to providing support that helps your organization run more smoothly. A little about me: I am passionate about natural health and living, and my husband and I run a small organic farm/homestead for our family. Because of our experiences and the fact that I am thirsty for knowledge and an avid reader (I do all my own topical research), I am familiar with a number of topics related to natural health and homesteading. We are also eager proponents of whole foods, self-reliance, and the use of low-carb/ketogenic eating and intermittent fasting for weight loss, healthy weight maintenance, and healing metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases.Non-Fiction Writing
