The main focus of my 30-year career has been on Oracle, and along the way I've picked up a number of complementary skills: MySQL, WordPress, PHP, Python, JavaScript, and many more. I'm currently semi-retired, and enjoying gig work! In Oracle, I've administered small databases up to huge installations on Oracle Grid Infrastructure, and installed, configured, and used Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control. I led a project to encrypt some 600 databases with Oracle TDE, enable Database Vault and Data Masking, and set up several Golden Gate data transfers. I've configured Oracle Identity Management/SSO, and worked out complex integrations with other systems, such as PeopleSoft, MS Active Directory, and DoD Common Access Card (CAC). For MySQL, it's pretty much the same range, but my experience is limited to a few years. I've touched Sybase/Informix, MS SQL and Access, DB2, Dbase, and PostgreSQL, and easily adapted to these environments. I've developed in Oracle Forms and Reports, Crystal Reports (ages ago), PL/SQL and SQL (of course), shell scripts, Oracle Portal, and many more. I'm a wiz at Excel, too. I can write HTML/CSS, but I'm not a web designer. I prefer to let the designers do their thing, and incorporate PHP, JavaScript, or PL/SQL, as needed for functionality. My design/database architecture skills (on both MySQL and Oracle) include ER/Win, ER/Studio, IBM Infosphere, and IDEF/x. In an agile environment, I used LiquiBase to migrate database changes. Last but not least, I taught the entire Oracle catalog at Learning Tree for about five years, and developed their course on Oracle 9iAS. I've developed courseware and exams for other vendors as well.
