"Wayne is not only skilled at directing a software product from an architectural standpoint, he also is able to understand it a micro level. As a result, he usually has a very complete grasp of any code he works with for any significant amount of time, whether it's something he's designed or something others have designed." -- Jim K "I experienced Wayne as a highly skilled and motivated software engineer, with a fast and analytical mind. His expertise and creativity always made him the default technical lead of the team. I highly recommend him." -- J. Ovesen With the right software engineer, your project can be done right the first time. When the strongest developers are 10x better than the weakest, working with someone with the lowest hourly could be more expensive than working with a strong engineer with a higher rate! I have been writing software for 30 years, from web, mobile, and desktop apps to firmware written in assembly. I understand software development at its core and can therefore handle your project expertly. In addition, I have been leading software development teams for 2 decades so I can help you manage a team if that is what you are looking for. On the mobile app side, I wrote the first few versions iOS and Android apps for Sound World Solutions, and internal tools in Xamarin and Swift. I also wrote and maintained an inventory management app that used barcode and RFID scanners in Xamarin. On the desktop side, I was the technical lead for the fitting software at GN Resound in the early 2000s. Recently, I have written factory test software and a lot of internal tools in C#/WPF. I have also written desktop software in Java for cross platform compatibility. On the firmware side, I have written the software on a hearing aid on 2 different chipsets and 2 different DSPs. These were written in C and assembly. For web apps, I have worked on e-commerce sites for Sound World Solutions and, too many moons ago, on J2EE and ASP. Currently, I am working on a project in Laravel. As you can see, I can help you with your project! I am efficient and deliver quality code. Please get in touch if you would like me to join your team.PCB Design

As an Embedded Engineer, I have experience with Embedded Rust for STM32x, ESP32x, nRF52x, and can quickly tear through new MCUs' and peripheral's datasheets to write and debug code for a microcontroller's development kit. I run experiments in my lab where I have an array of equipment. Of course every project is different, and each component must be treated with equal importance and evaluated properly. I can build custom boards as needed all the way from block diagrams, schematics, PCB layout, and the manufacturing and ordering processes. I work in KiCad 8.0 for these needs. I am a native English speaker, I am responsive and fair. I handle projects with due diligence and care, and will exert the extra effort needed for a quality result.PCB Design

Develop complete ‘testing systems’ consisting of LabVIEW applications paired with custom MCU-based circuitry to automate the electrical, thermal, and optical testing of all luminaires. Notable projects include: >End of Line Tester I: Developed a custom PCB capable of diagnosing any incorrect wiring operation performed during the assembly process. Resulted in a 95% reduction in measurement hardware costs compared to the proposed off-the-shelf solution. PCB with LabVIEW executable deployed to all 53 production lines assembling light fixtures. >End of Line Tester II: Designed a custom circuit capable of diagnosing assembly wiring, safely switching on the luminaire via a 120-300VAC external AC Source, and measuring AC Power at various programmed lumen levels. Includes hardware for 0-10V, DALI, and Phase Dimming Protocols, and works for single or two-circuit configurations. All features tested on benchtop, design sent to PCB Manufacturer for final device creation. 90% cost reduction compared to off-the-shelf solution. >Thermal Interface Tester: 80x64 Infrared Array tied to LabVIEW executable used to validate proper assembly of all downlight products. >Automatic Driver Evaluator: LabVIEW executable tied to various seriallycapable meters and power output devices used to validate the electrical performance of any LED driver. >Electrothermal Data Acquisition (DAQ): LabVIEW executable tied to custom MCU-based dimming circuitry (0-10V, DALI, or Phase) used to monitor the electrical and thermal properties of a fully-assembled luminaire over time. Program will auto-shutdown after reaching temperature stabilization, and can be used in a 'Ramp-Up' mode to detect the maximum output current possible before crossing a temperature threshold. Used in a UL-certified onsite lab.PCB Design

Hi! I'm Gerry, and I'm an industrial designer, electrical engineer, and maker. My whole life, I have been curious about how things are made and how we use objects and technology to interact with our world and each other. Raised by an artist and an engineer, I grew up feeding my creativity by building things and taking things apart, sketching, soldering, prototyping, turning ideas into real working objects and I just can’t get enough of that process! I have a passion for learning and I’m always working on projects and hobbies in my free time. I graduated from Villanova University in 2012 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked full time as both a Systems Engineer and Electronics Engineer in the commercial airframe avionics and space vehicle industry for 5 years where I gained valuable experience collaborating with large and small project teams in the office and on the production floor. In 2013, I discovered the field of Industrial Design to be a perfect match for my interests and skills, a combination of creativity, inventing, hands on prototyping, and technical understanding. While intensely self-studying and refining the skills I would need to work towards a career in Industrial Design, I started freelancing as an Industrial Designer then moved to Chicago where I studied and completed my Master's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2019. I'm currently the Product Design Engineering Manager at TEAMS Design Chicago where I make good use of my creative and technical backgrounds to lead our technical product development and prototyping efforts. It has been a blast to grow and develop the Protoyping Lab at TEAMS Design where we design, build, 3D print, test, and refine the user experience, mechanisms, and circuits inside consumer products as they grow and develop their way towards production. Some clients I have designed for include Dremel, Werner, Airbotx, Sloan and more.PCB Design
