Since 2004, I have been a part-time freelance writer for Sneaker Freaker Magazine. I have provided content which has mostly focused on vintage silhouettes and resissued lines line Air Max, Air Jordan, and a whole host of lines within Basketball, Tennis and the fashions that have been sparked from those sports. As well as working in full time positions within entertainment retail in the 90s [Store Manager for HMV Record stores] and more recently as a copywriter / researcher for Which? Magazine, I also co-presented a show on a British national commercial radio station during the early 2000s. I have consistently and routinely been working freelance, undertaking several full and part time projects for various consultancies, companies, labels, production houses and publications like The Guardian, Evening Standard, Metro, Arena, Touch, Blues & Soul, Trace, weekly promotional newspapers Shortlist & Stylist and what Public Enemys' Chuck D described as "the most important Rap magazine in the world" Hip-Hop Connection. I have focused on the counter-cultural industries of sports-footwear, streetwear, graffiti, street-art as well as music. I started as a writer in 1994, and have interviewed numerous individuals within the named industries including Rappers and DJs like Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia [a key player in the sneaker game]. In March 1994, my first interview was with an artist by the name of Nas before his first LP was released. I recently contributed a 24 page spread in a Taschen coffee-table publication from Sneaker Freaker Magazine called The Ultimate Sneaker Book. The piece focused on the origins of sneaker branding and their influence in Rap music, which date back to the early 80s. My last online submission was a cheeky nod at the artistic freedom used in the Air Jordan movie by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
