I am a highly versatile experienced start-up veteran who has built software processes and procedures as my companies scale upwards, and co-founded a bootstrapped (no venture funding) software company. (My previous company was also similarly bootstrapped.) I work mostly in Python, along with some in-house developed languages for use with my companies' products and services, though I have also worked with C++, Java, JavaScript, and Perl in the past on and off. I also have experience with managing AWS resources (including EC2 Linux and Windows servers, S3, and Route 53), as well as Wordpress, WikiMedia, Owncloud, and Confluence. I have done localization engineering in commercial product (video games from a major publisher) as well as written tools for QA purposes, working in fields as diverse as video game development (animation programming and campaign logic code in Panzer General sequels for Strategic Simulations Inc.), dynamic application caches for web servers, litigation support and investigations, human resources, and others. I am also an experienced musician in the studio and on stage in classical (solo, chamber ensemble, orchestral, and opera chorus) as well as popular / indie pop, rock, and metal groups. I have written many arrangements and compositions in different genres and forms including traditional (binaries, ternaries and sonatas, etc.) and 12-tone serialism, as well as all rock and pop music forms (though my preference is in metal and its very many subgenres, most of my friends prefer pop music, which I also enjoy). I composed all of the music and text for a Taiwanese hand puppet opera I performed (all instruments - piano, violin, guitar, bass, drums, and male voices as well as all hand puppetry) at a Taiwanese Happy Kids Day festival and arranged classic Taiwanese pop songs of 1920s to 1970s into modern rock and metal forms, touring Silicon Valley with a band focused on performing the music, including at Union Square in San Francisco at the Taiwanese American Cultural Festival as one of the lead guitarists and lead singers. Most of my compositions combine classical / academic music with Taiwanese folk music and something else, whether it's electronica, metal, rock, pop, or avant-garde. My current instruments include voice, 4 and 5 string violin, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, keyboards, electric and acoustic drums. I can give lessons in most instruments I play as well as teach music theory and composition. I am also a line artist, proficient in comic book style (suitable for not just comic books but also video game documentation or board game / RPG artwork) as well as figure drawings suitable for patents (my illustrations can be found in my company Chenope's patents, and am also able to do 2d "flip-book" style animations of my drawings using Pinnacle Studio. I'm told that I'm very good at dealing with high pressure work environments, able to stay calm even as all the odds are stacked against the team, including projects under very adverse challenging working parameters such as "extraordinarily aggressive deadlines." I am also adaptable to how the office wants to do things, and don't mind changing how I do things if it will serve the greater good. My academic and professional background in consumer as well as specialized products, along with my arts background, and my liberal arts education often lead me to see and understand "the big picture" which has been of help to the team leadership. NOTE: The hourly rate given is completely negotiable for me, and is just a number I had to write down. I wouldn't expect to charge the same rate for engineering work, music performance and composition, and art, because not all functions are the same (writing music wouldn't necessarily cost the same as performing it or someone else's music, which probably won't cost the same as QA'ing a software product or working to fix someone's server issues).
