Many were shocked to hear that starting in 2024, Mint will no longer be an available budgeting tool option. Credit Karma does not offer the ability to set monthly or category budgets. YNAB does. I'm a mid-career professional with over 15 years of accounting experience. I'm passionate about explaining how your financials work and why your tax numbers are what they are. So If you'd like to learn the ins and outs of your financial numbers then come on this journey with me. Here's a little about my background so you get a better picture of my qualifications. Since 2010 I've been bootstrapping my tax prep business. I've taken the requisite qualifying 60-hour training required by the California Tax Education Council (CTEC) and subsequent continuing education of a minimum of 20-hours per year (but I do way more than that) and have participated in the IRS's Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) since its inception. Over the years the scope of my business has grown as well as my year-over-year revenues. Wanting to further my knowledge about accounting and how to manage a business I pursued a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) which I graduated with in 2016. I quickly found out after starting that graduate program that I wasn't learning how to effectively manage a business but rather was gaining more hard skills in accounting that would help me offer a wider range of tax preparation work to include small and medium sized privately held businesses and of course accounting and bookkeeping services. Armed with my newfound knowledge from earning the MAcc degree and realizing that I didn't know squat about starting and managing a practice I enrolled and earned a Master of Business for Veterans (MBV) degree from USC Marshall School of Business. This experience has paid huge dividends in broadening my entrepreneurial mindset as well as my network. I became a QuickBooks ProAdvisor in 2017 and added bookkeeping services to my business and that has also grown over the past several years. I'm also a US Navy Veteran and am registered with the State of California as a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise and also with the Small Business Administration as a Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business. So if you're a partner in an accounting firm as a prime contractor chasing CA or Federal government contracts then I would definitely like to be one of your sub-contractors.Personal Budgeting
