I have 6 years of experience editing an array of materials, from articles on nonprofit management to technical documents to books of various genres. No stone goes unturned. -Improve the depth of your characters and implement character arcs. -Improve the pacing and structure of your piece in any other way necessary. Most importantly, I always ask what you as the client are looking for in a developmental edit. What vision do you have for your book or essay? How do you want it to affect your readers? How do you want it to contribute to the public discourse or consciousness surrounding whatever subject matter it touches on? What elements of your piece do you think need improvement? And of course, how do you want to be fulfilled by bringing it to completion? Although I tend to go after more creative pursuits, I'm adept at editing technical pieces. I have strong analytical and pattern-recognition skills and pick up on jargon quickly. No matter what material I'm working with, I hope to approach "the places where all the veins meet."
