Thank you." - Bill Ardolino (Content 51) "What a great article! Thanks so much for your time and effort...Let me know when the article is to be published. I'm sure I'll want to purchase more than one copy. Thanks for your beautiful way of putting my story together." - Kathleen Martens (Treasured Moments Photography) “I have read, and reread your article entitled "Clinic Stresses Holistic Approach". Thank you for transferring your interview skills to the fine article that you wrote in the Courier Hub. Your article had energy and accuracy. On behalf of Shalom Holistic Health Services, you have our appreciation. As you might know, fledgling organizations work tediously to get started and spread its wings. It takes many, many people over time who offer support for that organization to soar. Prior to take-off, there is a base of people who are able to see the dream, relate the dream to others, and offer encouragement at the time. You are one of the many who have positioned us for a successful flight. Thank you!” - Dorothy Petersen (Shalom Holistic Health Services) “Freelance writer Hannah Disch has been contributing articles to the Oregon Observer for the past year and has consistently submitted well done stories written with grace and clarity. Hannah's copy is clean, concise and easy to read. She is very reliable and consistently meets deadlines. Her attention to detail and accuracy is commendable. Hannah is a very strong features and human-interest writer. Not long ago, I asked her to write a story on very short notice and said I would need the article the following day. She got the job done quickly, and did a nice job of capturing the essence of the story. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a solid freelance writer.” - Bill Livick (Oregon Observer)Proofreading marks

I am an accomplished resume writer, developmental editor, copyeditor, and proofreader with a proven track record. My resume clients are consistently discovered by recruiters and hiring managers and are invited to job interviews. Furthermore, my editing clients have published in literary, academic, and trade publications in addition to signing with literary agents and publishing their books both traditionally and independently. I've also edited personal statements and application essays that have resulted in my clients being admitted to law school, medical school, dental school, and more. I have a versatile skill set. I write professional resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles designed to be compatible with employer Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). I also offer assessments and professional critiques of literary fiction and nonfiction with tangible suggestions for revision. In addition, I help writers to develop and refine their work at any stage of the writing process by editing and proofing manuscripts, articles, marketing materials, annual reports, dissertations, and everything in between for clarity and coherence. Finally, I write blog and social media posts, cover letters, scholarly articles, journalistic pieces, web content, and creative pieces. I have edited creative work by Robert Vivian, Philip Dacey, Mariko Nagai, Andria Williams, Simon Perchik, Joyce Dyer, Karl Elder, and James Grabill, among others, and I have also interviewed New York Times best-selling author Chad Harbach (author of The Art of Fielding). Oddly enough, social media isn’t my strong suit. If you know me—whether from work or life—you’re probably chuckling as you watch me navigate new technology. I’m a bit of a paradox: my heart is with people, which makes Human Resources my natural home, yet I thrive in problem-solving and process optimization. My motivation? Making other people’s jobs easier and more fulfilling. Some tasks are best left with minimal human touch—either because they’re too repetitive or too complex, leaving too much room for error. I love tackling problems, especially the ones that require creative solutions. The more challenging, the better. I’m passionate about transforming highly manual, cross-functional processes into streamlined workflows where technology does most—if not all—of the heavy lifting. Nothing frustrates me more than a bottleneck, and nothing excites me more than eliminating one. I'll end this with some hashtags since that just makes sense on social media. #ProcessAutomation #ProcessImprovement #BuildingBots #APIsRule #TechNerd #HRIntrovert #ForeverNerdMode #ChangeIsFun #NeverStopExploring #NeverStopLearning #Data #Reporting&AnalyticsProofreading marks

Professional editing services designed to deliver a clear message, error-free documents, and clear communication that represents your business to the highest degree of professionalism. What I Do: • I specialize in editing technical and academic documents to the highest level of professional writing. • I help businesses and individuals win opportunities, achieve support, and reach their ambitions with written pieces that are clear, concise, and have flow. Who I Help: • I help tech companies, startups, and academics ensure that their message shines through with clarity and persuasiveness. • I understand that every word counts. I help entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders communicate complex concepts with ease. ----- The best writing is transparent; it does not draw attention to itself but instead helps the reader engage with the ideas and encourages them to continue reading. Besides editing, I am also a professional musician. My musical training and experience help me to understand the importance of rhythm to both music and written language. Musical lines use flow and rhythm to engage the listener and pull them along to the end. I have served as a manuscript reviewer for several publishers, including Prentice Hall and Oxford University Press. I have been teaching writing at the university level for 21 years. The best use of this space is probably for me to explain what a math PhD has to do with writing. For the type of work I want to do, I would expect that my years as a manuscript publisher alone would suffice to prove that I can write, proofread and edit. Many people, though, seem to associate mathematics with a vague sense of confusion, and they therefore think a math background is incompatible with writing and editing when, in fact, a math PhD program might be the best writing training that anyone could hope for. First to counter a common misconception: higher mathematics is not about really long algebra equations and pages full of big numbers. It would be more accurate to imagine mathematics as philosophy whose paragraphs contain the occasional formula and whose blocks of text are interspersed with occasional blocks of equations. Unlike the logical arguments in philosophy, however, mathematical arguments are never vague and never depend on semantics. In a typical week, an aspiring math PhD might write 20 to 30 painstaking pages, many of them typeset using specialized software, and most of them supplemented with computer-generated visuals or carefully drawn sketches. The writing employs words with extremely specific meanings, and it has to be as concise as possible without leaving out any necessary details. It has to be targeted at a very specific level of reader that changes week by week, and, unlike almost any other kind of writing, it can be evaluated objectively for its quality and effectiveness. After several years and several hundred pages of this type of writing, an aspiring math PhD starts drafting academic papers and a dissertation. This work adds length, structure and creativity to writing that is already accurate and precise, and it develops skills like versioning, managing projects and meeting editorial deadlines. Someone with this experience who has also mastered the proper use of English has a rare and valuable skill! I've done cutting-edge research as a PhD mathematician, but I have also worked with retirees to publish their memoirs. I've done content creation for a hyper-growth tech startup, but I have also created individual study guides for struggling students. I've written software that taught itself how to play a game, but I've also been a grade school chess coach. My combination of technical and communication skills provides value greater than the sum of its parts.Proofreading marks

I'm a proofreader and editor who can help you fine-tune your writing so that it flows and is free of typos, "grammos," misspelled words, and punctuation errors. I have a certification from Proofread Anywhere, and I'd be happy to work with you on any type of publication, website, or PowerPoint presentation. I retired in 2018 after a thirty-five-year career as a statistician with a Fortune 500 company. In addition to the statistical consulting and training that was my full-time job, I was also the guy who would notice typos, extra spaces, and little things in other people's writing and PowerPoint slides. My colleagues would come to me for a final look at training materials and presentations so often that I would joke that I must have been a copy editor in a previous life! Since becoming a freelancer in 2022, I've worked on technical books and documents, memoirs, business proposals, marketing materials, white papers, and psychological evaluations, among others. I have lots of experience working with people whose first language isn't English, and if that is your situation, I'll edit your document to make it look as though it was written by a native English speaker. I work with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, and Adobe InDesign. I'm most familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style rules, but I can work with other style guides too. Unrelated to proofreading, I'm a lifelong musician and have played and performed on hammered dulcimer and other esoteric instruments since the early 1980s.Proofreading marks
