    We have never written so much in history, but the quality of our writing is in a downward spiral. When students graduate from college or when employees have to look for new jobs, they suddenly realize that they are going to have to sell themselves on paper, but they are not prepared to do so. People from all positions in companies come to me with very sadly-written resumes. I help them out. Writing a resume requires focus, synthesis capabilities and a different style of writing. This is where I come in. I have assisted over two hundred clients in writing their resumes and this requires the ability to juggle everything having to do with the language: spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, rhythm, being able to express ideas coherently and in an organized manner, capacity to catch the reader’s attention and entertain… It is an artform that you never quite finish learning. When you have the education, knowledge and experience that allows you to write well, you can edit and proofread naturally. I can do this in Spanish and English and it is critical that a professional resume writer be the one who translates your resume in order to sound the same in both languages. I am a Colombia-certified Spanish/English translator and interpreter obsessed with correctness in the written expression. Very often, the documents I translate, especially from Spanish to English, are less than well-written. I explain to the clients that it is very difficult to promise a good quality translation when the original is not clear. The document has to be edited, proofread and then translated. The client can do the first two, but I can help with the three. Anyone can benefit from the knowledge of a translator with a civil engineering degree, graduate studies in business and finance, sales/marketing experience for multinationals, and an inter/national entrepreneurial track record. There have never been any objections to translation of these other types of documents: -Contracts, agreements, NDA’s, MOU’s, powers of attorney, documents for adoptions and other legal documents. -Any document pertaining to university applications like grades, diplomas, essays, graduation certificates. -Tax declarations, income statements, bank statements, any and all certificates (marriage, birth, death, etc.). -Websites. -Technical books, including medical. -Ads. -Restaurant menus. -Articles and Papers. -Sales and marketing brochures, catalogs and presentations, as well as packaging copy. -Documents required by customs for the import of products. Most of the interpretations I have participated in have been of weddings between foreign and Colombian citizens. My experience as a sales rep for international housewares companies from the U.S., Turkey and China took me to International Shows in Chicago where I looked after Spanish and English speaking attendees, as well as potential and current customers from many countries around the world. I have a natural talent to create commercial and collaborative relationships with high level executives like CEOs, VPs and Presidents of companies. This helped me in the acquisition of internationally represented companies and in the foundation of a company with two U.S. business partners for the import and distribution of chlorine dioxide precursors.
